Had trouble searching for this...too many hits that didn't help. Any one use a paint to tint their windows?

I use this:

It works well:

The sides and rear are tinted.

i agree on the pactra paint. just make sure you let your paint cure before you spray the tint. i have used actuall window tint, it works good and you can peel it off later if you like.

If you're going to try the Pactra, Model Master, or Testors window tint paints (other than labels and part numbers, probably the same stuff anyway) you have to
put the can in some warm to hot water,
shake the livin' snot out of it,
hold the can 18" or further way from the item you're going to shoot with it,
put the paint down in many, many light mist coats until you get the effect you want.

I use Parma's tint for window tint and it drys very nice and clean. But you have to airbrush it on. Or if you want to be able to remove it.
I go to this guy on ebay for all my Vinyl stuff.
Just look for the transparent vinyls with adhesive. They come in several colors and its really cheap stuff.

Thats because you have to seal light colors first.
just like regular painting. Rule of thumb is that you do dark colors first and work to light. But sometimes you have no choice but to work with only light colors.
If you seal your whites, yellows, or light greys with silver after your done and then use rustoleum specialty plastics clear, white or black to seal the paint and allow it to dry. Youll be golden. then the last thing to do would be the tint

The spray can tint is really nice to have in your paint cabinet if you arent afraid to get creative with your shiney new lexan. One of our local guys came up with a way to use it to make carbon fiber looking paint inside lexan using carpet tape as a mask. Looked really good too.

Another cool use is making candy colors darker, a light coat after you spray the candy before you back it can bring down the volume a little and really make your paint unique.

My family owns a tint shop, I use real tint as well and it works awsome.
And you can get it for free from a tint shop, just ask for thier scraps
and tell them you want to tint an rc. I give it away all the time for little
projects since there is always a little waste "thumbsup"

I used the Pactra stuff on my rig. I sparayed light coats at a distance warmed the can Blah Blah Blah and it bled thru my red above one of my windows. So now the edge of the roof is almost black. The stuff is garbage STAY AWAY!!!!! Ruined a good paint job. Next time i will try real window tint as i have frinds that do it for a living.
