Microsoft ! I do not know what is wrong with this company!. They bought McAfee and F****D it up. They bring in new products that are worse than ever!

The problem is when engineers at Microsoft don`t realize that the product they are making is for the general public who does not sit in front of the pc 24/7. When software engineers start designing a product they have achieved a deeper concentration level in that particular project. They tend to think that the easier methods that they implement will be easier for the day to day user and this is where they go wrong. They forget that the daily user will not be willing or won`t have time to do a detailed research and study on their product to understand and efficiently use it. They forget the psychology and need for 'easy to use' system for the daily user.

When these high flying engineers are all happy and go in their comfort zone , sitting in an ac office and pressing their keyboards, they tend to think form their own perspective. They think they have done a marvelous job, their bosses have their heads up in pride and hoping for a promotion that will pull in another million dollar in their pay package. They forget what is required and going on at the ground level. No wonder people come up with problems with every new launch. Technology should not be made complicated and should be user friendly.

This same thing happened when windows 7 was launched. It took a long time for people to accept it. But this long time to get adjusted to a new operating system is the most frustrating because in your busy schedule it acts as a speed breaker at every step. It will take time to get friendly with the new operating system, but it will come with a lot of headache and time invested.

Thanks Triggerman, forwarded the link you posted to Dad!

Edit; Dad says thanks too!

He bought his through a local Microsoft store and it sounds like there will be a free class on how to use it that he will be able to attend too.

I've got 8 on my laptop. Took a while to get used to but I like it.

Really it is geared towards touch screens, so that makes the mouse or touchpad a little fudgy at first. You get used to it though.

Their commercials and the very little time i got with it make it look like a play thing more than a production-oriented tool...

So glad i snatched a Win 7 Pro laptop!!

Dad apparently has been playing with it all day, he's going to try and figure it out as is before he decides to try and go back to the the 7 interface.

is there anyway to UNlink it from your hotmail/msn account?

Not sure there Jeff, I'll ask if he linked it to his Yahoo or if he had to create a Hotmail for it.

Just bought myself a new laptop with windows 8 a few days ago. This is my very first laptop after many years of PC with windows XP2000.

At first, the windows 8 was pissing me off. After a few days of fudging around, I starting to like it.

The point is to give it a few days and it might surprise you.

Yeah its starting to grow on me. My old laptop had windows xp on it and its a dinosaur compared to this.

As to EeePee the wabbit isn't mine I stole the pc from VWvortex. But I do have a 84 GTI under the knife in the garage. It would be done if I wasn't messing with these damn RC cars all the time.

VWs are worse than Windows. Silly cars, but cool looking. But, mechanically stupid.

Fuel injection was dumb on those, as was the rear suspension. Guys at the races would run TWO rear sway bars to get the thing to rotate cause it sucked so bad. But, cool looking. And, that counts for something.

94 Honda hatch in my garage.

mechanicly brilliant. parts interchangability, they float. offroad capeably from the factory. i can drop the engine in less than a half hour and change engines in just mere hours. how many honduhs compete in the baja 1000? and no need to go fast. they just look cool!

the white ones mine. well used to be. traded it for a bus. best trade up ive ever done.

All good. Talking about race careers, well... we shouldn't go down that path. You can have your Baja 1000...

Stupid flapper fuel injection and shit, you can't convince me they're good.

But yes, look cool, indeed.
