winter ?

what percautions do you take for waterproofing ?i know the esc needs air to so it makes it hard to keep it coverd and cooled at the same time.

Eh water proofing? I think last winter I put a piece of seran rap on the ESC in my pajero, bout it.

yea i dont think thats waterproofing, lol.if anything i think if snow got under the saran wrap it would stay in there better.

We go snowbashing also! I move the ESC to the top of the frame rails right behind the grill of the body that keeps it pretty well protected. Oh thats right, most of you dont have a frame like I do. :flipoff:

I would say put it as high as possible in a box with a few small holes in the top. :?

Another benefit to running lathe motors  My ESC makes almost NO heat, after 30 minutes of high speed bashing, I can still rest my hand on the heat sinks. Since it gets around 30 here in the winter, I am going to seal up my ESC in tupperware  I figure I'll open it every 10-15 and get some fresh air in there. Servos are water resistant, so they should be just fine, and motors can be totally submerged no problem (even w/ 14.4V)

I can't wait till winter here!!!

What is this "winter" you speak of? In So Cal it'll hit a bone chilling 40* this year, with maybe a couple weeks of rain spread out over a few months. Then again, it'll probably only be that cold at night! :D

we have winter here for 5-6 months of the year here.(ny) somtimes the winters are mild but not the past few years.

yea ny winters are long, ive got snow from november till the end of april.last year we had a total of 19 feet added up from all the storms,we usually keep a 4-5 foot base though. I ought to swap over to paddles and snow bash.Snowmobilings awesome though best in blizzards, 3ft powder on the roads=lotsa fun

In a way I wish it would snow here, but NOBODY in So Cal knows how to drive in the rain, so snow would be a freeway nightmare. Plus, we'd probably whine so much about it being too cold that it wouldn't be worth it.

What we get is rain. Not much, but enough to make some cool rc mudding spots!

Did somebody say NY Winters? :D
