Wraith steel cage

Well I took the plunge, pretty cheap. I dont see any tabs for body mounts, or much else for that matter. Which proline body did you use, and are there other shells that fit, with or without modifications?

I bought the body from RPP ,,Its a 1973 Ford Bronco for Wraith ,,,Pro-Line 1973 Ford Bronco Clear Body for Wraith

The interior needs trimed on the ends and narrowed ,And there is no body tabs ,,I used heavy duty velcro ,,Attached the front battery plate to the chassis and interior with zip ties and Shoe Goop,, I used a Radio shack project box to hold the electrics ,,made a small clamp to hold project box,,So far three runs and no problems ,,It is heavier but seems to side hill just as good ,, Using a 2200 mAh 3s lipo fits snugg,,
Robert

I know you are looking for more of a scale look but I have a buddy who got a steel cage for his revo and he skinned it using the patterned duct tape you get at Home Depot. This method could probably be used for under skins though

I have considered cutting some thin sheetmetal and using zip ties and small holes to attach panels. Not sure, will see when I get it. I also dont have interior, etc.

Did some basic layout with a plastic wraith skid and the links I want to use, and hit 16 inch wheelbase. May dial that back a bit, got plenty of links to play with, longer shafts on the way but dont know if I will like the shock angles. How far from the outer shock hole to the other, front to back? I dont have a wraith, just the axles, lol.

I've been thinking of stretching mine out a1/2" on both ends . You are right shock mounts will have to be relocated

Max shafts are made for stuff like this..

I was thinking 16" but that's an 1" on each end just seems like to much.

Ive had a set of ax10 mips for as long as I can remember, got one super long summit shaft with another on the way. Should be pretty easy to fab a mount for the shock. Mine will be here tomorrow.

Not sure I am sold on it. Feels cheap, few pieces of slag with sharp edges, several holes are off, the four screw holes per side I will have to drill two larger, at least one shock hole was either not threaded or threaded really bad - going to drill these out. Its also insanely heavy.

Does anyone know what the four mounting tabs are really for, two in the very front, two in the rear?

Also what does the stock chassis weigh compared to this? Fedex said the package was 2.2 lbs, so I think its every bit of 2 lbs.

Really thinking hard of getting the stock chassis from somewhere.

Edit - I have now gotten it up and running, and driven it a little. Got the battery in a tray on the back shelf, esc and bec mounted to a plate on the side of the trans, and radio on that odd plate out front, so everything is lower than the upper shock mounts, but still pretty top heavy. Sidehilling is decent, wide axles, but it flips over backwards very easily. I could deal, love the look.

However - the rear shocks arent even close to lining up, so one is at a very different angle. I can almost run a rod from one hole and straight across to another different shock hole. Then one rod doesnt meet in the same place, just haphazardly welded in another area.

Also everything looks to bolt so easily to the wraith chassis, I am going to find one and go with that.

So I got the factory wraith plastic chassis, and with the jeep body, light bar, front proline bumper, leds, the wraith da cover, da boxes front/rear it weighed 20oz, the metal cage weighed 27oz. I probably wont be using the metal cage.
