hi have xp sc1200-bl brushless esc and i have two 7.2 ni-mh 4500 mah i would like to now if i can put them together and do i put them positive to positive or positive to negative thanks

Parallel, tie the 2 "+" together and the 2 "-" together. This adds the capacity (mah) but keeps the same voltage.
I would make a "T" adaptor so the packs remain seperate, thus easier to swap out or charge.
You can also run a single pack or 2 packs easily.

+1 with what charlie said. depending on your connector, you can buy the parallel adapter that just plugs in. saving you a soldering headache..... "thumbsup"

One more question with do double mah will it make it a 12 cell or stay 6 cell.
They r both 6cell the esc max is 8 cell
The ESC rating is the # of cells in series (series adds the voltages, mah stays the same), so you have 2 6cell packs wired together in parallel the ESC only sees a 6cell pack.

The proper description of what you want is a:
6S2P (6 cells in series, 2 packs in parallel).
