Zachary and I been here in NY for a bit now for his 2 month scans. His MIBG scan showed something in his Kidney, which has been a major concern of ours as you can imagine. His Ct scans haven't come back yet with final results, nor has the bone marrow aspirate, urine or MIBG. We are hopeful the results will be good because he is a TOUGH KID and has so many prayers and support behind him. Its amazing what hope and faith can do. Tomorrow is the BIG day, we are to consult with the doctors and see what his future will hold.
If his scans are dirty, we will do chemo. and more radiation and other treatment which depends on the location(s) of the relapsed tumors and disease.
If his scans are clean we may try a round of CHemo. to knock his HAMA down so he can have the 3F8 antibody treatment and try to do a stem cell harvest (just in case we run into having to do another transplant down the road)
Other than that our future is in the lords hands and were praying that Zach is still NED (No Evidence of Disease=Clean) and understand that whatever happens with Zach is the lords will and we will get over the road blocks just like we have thus far.

I will update after I meet with the doctors tomorrow sometime. I am an emotional wreck, scans are always the toughest to cope with because of the uncertainties of the unknown. Its tough to wonder if the cancer is back or not.

Another SAD but REAL event today was Baby Lincoln passed away a few days ago. He too was fighting the battle and unfortunately he couldn't fight anymore. His disease took over, his body shut down and simply wanted to rest. The services were beautiful tonight here at the RM House, but I felt ill to my stomach because this hit "Way to close to Home". Baby Lincoln, Age 1 gave a tough fight but was just to small and TIRED, he is in a much happier and safe place.
My heart bleeds out to his parents whom help it together perfectly during the services. I don't think it has hit them yet as they will be leaving in the am to return home to tell there 3 other children. I wish I could be there for them but the lord will to guide them in the right direction.
Rest in Peace Baby Lincoln, Keep Smiling and Watch over your friend Zachie!

Amber, Glad to hear things are going well. I hope the scans come back clean, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of Zach. Tell him to be strong and keep up the good fight!

Julianna says to tell him she said hi, she talks about your 3 kids all the time.

Looks like I'll be on your side of the country in a few months, we'll have to hook up and do some crawling.

Thanks so much for taking the time to give us all an update on Zach. I too hope and pray for a good return of information from the doctors. As you said, its in the lords hands and Zach has a lot more to do here!!

Prayers are out for baby Lincoln, and his family.

Thanks Everyone! I am getting ready to head to the doctor and if things go well, I am heading home to VA tonight! I really don't like being here, it's terribly trying and VERY sad to live with day in and day out! How can I be positive about Zachary and his disease when it around me 24 / 7 and the only thing that people talk about here is CANCER, and seeing the kids just breaks my heart!

I decided to do a caring bridge site for Zachary so those interested can subscribe for "Updates" and see his recent happenings, you can also sign his journal, which I encourage you to do so as it TRULY helps us get through the pain of every day not knowing what the future holds and simply puts a smile on our faces which to me is the BEST MEDICINE of ALL!

Thanks!

Zach and your family are continually in our prayer chains and thoughts. I hope it is all good news today. I'll be keeping up with the journal.

Thanks for letting us know Amber, we all have zach and the family in our prayers. "thumbsup"

I'm amazed at not only Zach's "toughness" but yours as well Amber. I have had some experience with the RM life style and your words brought back memories. I found it unbelievable that the RM staff could maintain such optimism on a day to day basis what a wonderful service. Bless you all and give you strength.
