Zachary and I been here in NY for a bit now for his 2 month scans. His MIBG scan showed something in his Kidney, which has been a major concern of ours as you can imagine. His Ct scans haven't come back yet with final results, nor has the bone marrow aspirate, urine or MIBG. We are hopeful the results will be good because he is a TOUGH KID and has so many prayers and support behind him. Its amazing what hope and faith can do. Tomorrow is the BIG day, we are to consult with the doctors and see what his future will hold.
If his scans are dirty, we will do chemo. and more radiation and other treatment which depends on the location(s) of the relapsed tumors and disease.
If his scans are clean we may try a round of CHemo. to knock his HAMA down so he can have the 3F8 antibody treatment and try to do a stem cell harvest (just in case we run into having to do another transplant down the road)
Other than that our future is in the lords hands and were praying that Zach is still NED (No Evidence of Disease=Clean) and understand that whatever happens with Zach is the lords will and we will get over the road blocks just like we have thus far.
I will update after I meet with the doctors tomorrow sometime. I am an emotional wreck, scans are always the toughest to cope with because of the uncertainties of the unknown. Its tough to wonder if the cancer is back or not.
Another SAD but REAL event today was Baby Lincoln passed away a few days ago. He too was fighting the battle and unfortunately he couldn't fight anymore. His disease took over, his body shut down and simply wanted to rest. The services were beautiful tonight here at the RM House, but I felt ill to my stomach because this hit "Way to close to Home". Baby Lincoln, Age 1 gave a tough fight but was just to small and TIRED, he is in a much happier and safe place.
My heart bleeds out to his parents whom help it together perfectly during the services. I don't think it has hit them yet as they will be leaving in the am to return home to tell there 3 other children. I wish I could be there for them but the lord will to guide them in the right direction.
Rest in Peace Baby Lincoln, Keep Smiling and Watch over your friend Zachie!
