Zohn addiction fed by vs4-10

Forgot to mention that I turned an old Savox sw1210sg into a servo winch. Just need to order some line, a spool and that fairlead from shapeways. Ah well what's another $100 or so matter.

got my winch spool, winch line and hook in the mail today, as well as a cooler and a few ammo boxes to toss in the rear. going in to the shop tomorrow to finish the interior and screw and tape my interior to the body. the only thing i'm still waiting for is an sbg fairlead that is being printed as we speak from shapeways. going to fab up a temporary fairlead tomorrow also.

meeting 6-10 drivers on sunday morning for its first body on day of crawling, will post some shots sunday afternoon on the rocks!

I was over at my buddies backyard course a few hrs ago and ran her with my old trx bronco body on it, very impressed with its performance. cant wait to get it on some real rocks and definitely need to drop a few teeth on my pinion.

Sanded down my winch spool to fit and installed it.

Fabed a quicky fairlead to get me by until my sbg fairlead hits.

Added some scale flare in the back

Any updates with the custom emblems and driving experiences?

Mine is still out of comission so I need my VP fix vicariously through you all.

Went to the 27th annual camp bash over the weekend so havent driven her since last sunday.
I did find it incredibly fun to drive. Had tons of torque and ran glitchless through tire deep water for a few hrs.
I was running the stock bumper but have put the ripper on with the sbg printed fairlead in polished nickel steel. Had to enlarge the holes in the fairlead a tad to get it to match the bumper holes. Kinda surprised me.

I'm heading over to a buddies backyard course on Wednesday and will shoot some piks.

Anxious to see how the ripper does getting my front tires closer to the rocks.

Also gonna try my hyrax and rockbeasts on it.

Been pondering the hurtz dig unit but havent pulled the trigger yet. Tried finding what shaft to run for the rear and it looks like running a front set on the rear will work. Havent found any single front shaft kits so still looking.

I am impressed with the self righting when tipped on its side ability of this rig. A quick blip in reverse with the wheels on full lock and it just jumps up on four wheels like a cat. Much better than my trx4 rig.

Looking forward to this weekend. Going to hook up with the same group of crawlers this sunday and burn through a few packs at a new location I've never crawled!
Temps will be a bit cooler so it will be much less sweaty, always a bonus and the mosquitoes are on the decline around here so should be a blast.

The emblems kinda got lost in the paint job. My sis doesn't have the right printer to do it right. She is sending me the files soon so I can get them done right by a online sticker printer.
Going to cost a few bucks and I'm going to end up with a lot of extras.

I did put a few on styrene and they showed up much better but the ink on them isn't very water proof so they will fade when I get em wet. But they will do till I get my new ones

No need to mess with the stock rear shaft. I was told and then looked , look at the rear shaft from above, now loosen it and slide it back ........ plenty of room for the dig. Mine will be in Friday I’m told.

Hang up and Drive

well that's good news. I thought that they had room but I think I read somewhere that for optimal telescoping action they shouldn't mesh more than 3/4 inch when suspension is unloaded.

There is around 1 1/4" difference between the front and rear
shafts, it looks like the dig is around 1" thick front to back. So a front set should work or a front female with a rear Male.

Had to end my crawl early when I ran into some aggressive ground dwelling Hornets but made it out safe.
