Looks like Evo has been talking with Tamiya and has come up with a cantilever suspension for the JK. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() http://www.project-jk.com/images/evo.../EVO_LEVER.pdf |

I can't figure out why cantilever suspension get's trash talked like it does. Yes, it's complicated, but if the pivots are supported on bearings and are smooth, it should work fine right? I've never run one...maybe someone could explain?

A cantilever set up won the 2007 Super Class National spot.

| ![]() Not on a street driven wannabe. As far as performance goes, you can get longer travel out of a shorter shock, cooler running shocks (due to the shorter stroke requirements), much better protected from potential trail damage. I'm sure there's more but thats just off the top of my head. Barbie Jeep? WTF? ![]() Last edited by chino63; 03-14-2008 at 12:59 AM. |

Its nice and all, but they don't mention having to relocate the stock muffler.

| ![]() Well there is your problem right there ![]() Obviously I don't own a JK just yet but where is the fuel tank located at in the new models? It can't be that white plastic thing can it? Just seems smaller then I expected..... ![]() Last edited by Harley; 03-14-2008 at 12:54 PM. |

Would there be an axial load on the shocks since it pivots at both ends? I'm not sure so explain it to me please, I might be wrong but would like to know if I am. Obviously there are many variables to take into account such as cantilever ratio, shock stroke, valving, spring rate, etc. These would all effect it in different ways. ... Here I go over thinking things again. ![]() | |
