I watched Rock Crawlin comp on T.V. and all those spotters wear helmets, and they arent even in danger! When I have to spot my dad, usually all I have is a free hand and a camara... Here's a little story that cost ~$10 We were up the mountains with some buddys and the whole day we hadn't broken anything, a lucky day, so my dad was feeling lucky and we were on a trail with like a hundred tank traps. There was one tanktrap befor another one and everyone made that one just fine, then it was the last trap, where you can choose to go around in a much less difficult Trap, and THEN there was the mother of traps, and knowing my dad, we just HAD to do it. I took out the tow strap and hooked onto the tow loop and me and 3 other guys had to hold the rear end down because this tank trap was 4 feet deep and straigh up and down. Once the front touched bottom, I took off the strap and we all went to the side to watch the mad man make it out. Here is a picture of the after effects on 12 Buds: After making this, we started out and the front of the line had to stop and try a hill, knowing my dad, we had to try this too... Long story short; Broken rear U-joint, and had to show off in front wheel drive (With a welded front diff) and snapped both Berfields... NOT a good run cuz I was the one that fixes all this ****! |

You obviously have never spotted in competition, or followed pro rock crawling for too long. The spotter's *** is on the line even more than the driver's in terms of being hurt. Think about it for a minute here, spotter is running around on uneven ground, pulling on the car. Driver is sitting in said car... Spotter is in front of the car, sometimes outta sight of the driver and in front of said 2500# car. Ask Jason, being a spotter is not easy and it is not free of danger. Luckily this year a spotter came back from a bad accident from last season where he was run over by his driver, due to his driver not being able to see him. Spotting on the trail and spotting in comps just can not be compared and are very different. | |

the f150 they were driving was built at the 4 wheel parts show that was held in town last weekend. So they did not need to tow it. They are building a comp buggy during the next season. It will be a campel buggy. BUt that was about all they said next season.
