Default The yuppie jeep

So, i started this build a couple months back and Ive been doing a build thread on my local forum. But frankly today im bored out of my witts, so im gonna start one here. Im hoping to have it running by next Sunday for a GTG my clubs putting on, then it'll get torn down to fix any problems, and painted up for Montana.

Ok to get you guys up to date, I started with a SCX 10 and a Tamiya wrangler body. I hadn't seen anyone cut the doors off one so i went that route. After the doors were gone i started on a interior.

I got a idea to build a electronic box/ box to cover the shocks sticking up though the back floor, and i figured that being as i was goning for the mall crawler look it would be perfect. I built the center console to hold a mp3 player.

Right around this time i got some more parts. I got a set of rc3wd shocks for temperary.

and i got a transfer case from GCM. I cant tell you how impressed i am with this transfer case, it is super small and i dont think i could break it if i tried.

Around this point, I started thinking about how heavy this pig was gonna get, and I started to worry about the roof breaking off. So it was time for a rollcage.

My plan origanally was to run a rc3wd disrupter transmission, but that plan kinda fell through so i made up a mount for my axial trans.

had to trim up the floor and console alittle

Then I built some bumpers

And a servo winch mount. The traxxas servo is only for mock up

This is how it sits now, i just gotta hook up the servos and finish up the battery mount and shes a runner

Thanks guys, I drove it around a little today, and it actually did alot better than I expected. It wasnt nearly as top heavy as i was figuring it would be. The only problem I had was the motor is faster in reverse than in forward ( the wires are hooked up right though), and I havent put lock nuts on the steering yet, so it kept coming loose.

Took it to its first gtg today. We had two teams of 5, 20 gates, and all the reverses you want, and the only penaltys were gates and winches. Im still amazed at the performace of this turd. only rolled over twice (once down about a 10 foot cliff) other than that it worked flawlessly. But I did break the output shft on the transmission...

Default servo mount

Nice build

With the winch servo mounted like that, how are you directing the line from the drum to the front farilead?
Curious because I am chassis mounting a winch, back in front of the central mounted trans and running the line up to the front, possibly through 1-2 pulleys.

I ran the line though a piece of 3/8 brake line that i bent.
