| big blocked the yota
so i recently finished my scaler and have been having a blast with it, nothing to special really, scx10 bassed rc4wd stanmped wheels with 1.55 rock crushers spectrum rx/tx jr8711 servo stock shcoks up front with g-transitions in the rear mamba max pro on 4s. well any way i was running a ballistic crawler but it randomly quit on me, pulled it appart no heat marks, winds looked good, but this is my first BL set up so i really dont know what to look for, any way i needed somthing to throw in for the mean time, go to the LHS and grabed a cheapo brushed motor, 35t, needless to say the cheapo didnt like the 4s haha, so played around with my tekin 35t for a while, was fun but wasnt quite what i wanted in there, so that went back to the comp tuber.. so pokeing around the lhs, there its is the most ugly, but perfect motor, uber cheap too! my friends i present to you the big blocked yota, aka the axle snapper hmmm not looked very axle snapper is it? but take the body off and heres what we have i know its done befor but wow! im having a blast!! its a titan 12t out of a traxxas rustler or somthing running my 4s 40c lipo, (i dunno really knoiw whats its fromi wasnt really listening when i was told what it came out of) i guess the LHS sells alot of the car but every one upgrades to the vxl right away, so i only paid 15 for this bad boy brand new. it took a little work to make it fit, dremeled out the motor plat its basically sitting right against the trasmission, its gear semi high at 18/83 but so far iv found that it has damn decent low end and the wheel speed is waaaaaaay more then enough! happy crawlin every one! |

love those 550's for bashing, if you take the outer sleeve off the motor you should be able to drop a couple of teeth on the pinion. 72 teeth spur 9 tooth pinion in 32 pitch might work but i havent hooked it up to see if it will fit

yeah im having a blast with this thing, im pretty happy with how its geared, it was just that ther is some little ring around the end shaft that wouldnt fir threw the plate, do just opened it up a little and fits great, its almost tempting not to put the ballistic crawler back in when i get it back haha
