Default 1989 Chevy Blazer

BUILD SPECIFICATIONS
Body: Proline 80s Chevy Blazer
Chassis: Level 1 R/C, Machined Aluminum Rails
Shocks: RC4WD 80mm xxxxx
Leaf Springs: Delrin
Trans: Axial
Axles: Axial
Wheels: RC4WD xxxxx
Tires: RC4WD xxxxx
Motor: Novak 55 brushed
Speed Control: Novak Rooster Crawler
Receiver: Spektrum
Servo: TBD

Here is a truck build that I'm helping a friend on. This is based on a 1:1 truck that he built and has been collecting parts to build a mini replica.

I finally got some pics of his truck for all to see. I'm mocking up a body for this build ( for my new and upcoming "GMC Jimmy" build ) in the classic blue and white colors just like the Blazer in my avatar photo. But he is having a body painted to match the color scheme of his truck, black with the sour apple green accents.

You should probably swap out those
deltin leafs for steel ones, I've heard they break very easy and besides, no one has plastic leaf springs on a 1:1 lol jk but really you'd be suprised what kinda flex you can get with good ole spring steel leafs

Here are a couple more pics after this past weekend...got the leaf spring mounts finished so we could actually get this puppy up on her feet.

Also was able to get the body mount locations figured out, so the next time I post pics here we should have the body mounts on.

Next up, mounting the shocks and steering linkage...

I did notice while comparing our two current leaf sprung projects that the steel leafs did have a softer feel, with more articulation.

This is not my truck...so we'll see what "rockon" wants to do

i havent used those specific delrin leafs but i have used some before. if its just a trail rig they should be fine, but it you he decides to do hardcore crawling i would change them out for the steel ones.

just my two pennies

Here are some new shots taken today, we now have the motor and transmission mount done, as well as a combination center brace / transfer case mount.

Looks awesome! Maybe it's just the pictures.... but is there any way to bump the back axle back a hair to center it up in the wheel well arch?

Planning on a full interior? Removable top like a 1:1?

I think it's just a weird angle, plus the body isn't 100% mounted yet.

Latest updates as of this weekend...

Shocks are mounted, bumpers and bumper mounts are mounted, frame mounted servo bracket is fabbed, and leaf spring brackets have been redesigned and fabbed. It is 95% ready to go...just need to start running electrical and figure out what we're going to do with a machined grill similar to our '78 GMC Heavy Half...but in a '89 Chevy grill style.
