Default Tuff Schidt ver. 1.5

In case you missed it, the original Tuff Schidt build started back in September of 2010 in the 1.9 section. Initially I was thinking along the lines of making this project a 3/4 Ton HD. It was gonna roll on 1.9's and be more utilitarian in nature. As the build progressed I made the decision to switch it to 1.5's and roll with an even more stock-looking setup. I didn't want to jam the biggest tires I could stuff under it and cut the fenders down to nothing, so I changed plans midstream and that brings us here.

Here are a few teaser shots of it right after I switched rims and tires. This is exactly where the 1.9 version left off. There is still quite a bit more to do on this project, but I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

STUFF SHOTS!

More to come, stay tuned! Thanks for looking.

Oh yeah dude, I'd like to see how it looks with some 1.9 dirtgrabbers on there. I'm sure we'll get the opportunity to try that out sometime here soon.

I actually put on a set of 1.5 Mud Thrashers that came off my High Lift. I liked the look, which is why I ordered the 1.5 Rock Crushers. The Crushers are just a tad thinner than the Thrashers and I like the way they look better. All in all though, they did look pretty good on there.

Check this shit out....

I painted the frame and bumpers. I used Krylon Fusion flat black but I sprayed a few coats of satin black over the flat black on the actual frame rails. Then I baked the finish at 350 degrees for 1 hour. This worked really well on my test piece, but the test piece was sprayed in gloss and it seems more durable. The satin black on the frame rails seems better off than the flat black pieces, but we'll see how it holds up. All in all, it came out clean and it should be more than sufficient for what I need it to be.

Here are a few pics of that goin down...

Tearing BACK down...

Build up...AGAIN...

Thanks dude! Yeah, I made custom mounts for the front and the back links. I remade the rear ones though. I threaded the holes in the C-channel so I don't need to use a nut on the end of the screw.
