height depends on how scale you want it to look. It also matters height of the tire you are running if its 3 in. tall or 4.5 but it is really a personal preference mostly.

I am not sure if all drop beds are the same depth. Visualize your cab having a floor and the cab sitting on the frame, then mount up the bed correctly. If you want a true scale look that will be perfect.

If you bolt the cab and bed together, the bottom of the drop bed would sit on top of the frame rails. This will automatically set the mounting height of the cab.

Yup thats what I did. Unfortunately, the bed sits about half an inch higher than the frame rail because of the gearhead shock relocation tower.

Can you flip the shock mount upside down to get the bed to sit flush with the chassis? You could also get some channel shaped styrene and build the bed stiffeners that run along the bottom of the 1:1 bed, this would allow for the space of the shock mount and help to camouflage it at the same time.

I'll try to flip the shock mount, if not, I really like the idea of bed stiffeners
