| Jeepster Build
Im going for a stance and look like this 1:1 I picked up this old Tonka metal toy the other day at a swap meet. I love how the body already looks old and has some rust and scratches on it. I think its going to make a great looking scale rig. Since this is my first real scratch build Im going to keep it simple. I will use the existing interior but add to it. Plenty of room behind the front seats for gear and some coilovers to come through the floor. |

Love it! My first vehicle I drove (for 10 years) was my Dads old 1971 Jeepster Commando! |

Started taking measurements so I can figure out what kind of parts Im going to need. That is also why I posted here and not one of the more specific topic areas. Im not sure what size tires I am going to use yet. From my measurements it seems like this body is close to 1:12 scale. Here are some more pictures using my Tamiya Jeep for reference: A couple with my Wraith for fun: |

I'd say even smaller, maybe 1/14 scale. We had a CJ5 as well and the Commando is bigger. Maybe go 1.55 tires and wheels and MRC axles? |

Yeah Im thinking it might be a little smaller than 1/12 scale also. Im thinking 1.55 tires/wheels. Looking into MRC axles now. You read my mind. Im still very new to the RC world so still learning. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated. | |

That is Cool! I seriously thought about that exact thing when I saw a Tonka Jeepster at a antique shop near me. They were pretty attached to it though! Keep the pics coming! |

I work about 30 hours a week plus I go to college full time. I also just lost power for a week, and its been almost two weeks without internet. No update pics. I did pick up the metal rod for the cage though. Hopefully I can get some time to bend it up soon. |
