| 2003EDGE's C1 TJ Project
One of our local club members, Skerb, was looking to get rid of his class 1 TJ. Rather than see it go off to some far away land, I snagged it up. Currently as it sits: Tekin 35t Handwound Tekin FXR Castle BEC XR Mod with Burly Tubes RC4WD Wagon Wheels RC4WD Mud Thrashers GCM T-Case Custom Front Motor Mount I have added an RC4WD 9.5 Winch, HeyOk 4Amp Winch Control, Axial 38/13 HD gears front and rear. Plans for it are as follows: Holmes BRXL Holmes 35T Crawlmaster Holmes BL400 Servo RC4WD Voild Wheels RC4WD Scale Lighting System RC4WD King Shocks RC4WD Driver and Passenger Enjoy the pics! |

Ok, I forgot to pick up some Zippo fluid to take the rest of the stickers off...will save that project for this weekend I guess LOL! I did however remember that I had a set of LockedUp RC Pro Hubs in my hardware box. So, I trimmed down the axle shafts and got them test fitted and locked down. I will be removing them and painting them so that they don't look like giant billet blobs on my wheels lol! Enjoy! |

Hard to tell from this pic, but I use marine heat shrink on the front hubs instead of paint to look like the actual wheel hub. It's easier to get the line perfect and it makes it a bit larger to look real. You can see the black in this pic on the front hubs |

I didn't even think of doing that Brooks! Awesome suggestion and I just happen to have some of it in my tool box at work! Don't ask me why I have it lol!

I finally got all of the stickers off of the body and added a couple smaller ones! I replaced the link ends with RC4WD rod ends. They work great on my C2 rig and are working equally as well on this rig! I took the TJ out today to get some driver mod time in! The more that I drive this rig, the more it surprises me in what it is capable of! Enjoy the pics! Getting ready to roll with Robert (wilbywise) Drove out of it! Wow! I haven't updated this thread in a looooooooong time! I still have this rig and it has seen a few updates over the past year...and a half. First of all, I took this to the RC4WD Challenge Series event in Disney Oklahoma last year. I took a 6th place...not bad considering I was on the smallest tires there lol Just a couple pics. After that awesome event, it made another appearance at Frashier's Funpark. This was a team event, I teamed up with Skerb and we took the win in class 1! I headed down to Florida for the Killer Klowns G6 event last October. I had intended to run another rig...didn't have time to get everything sorted on that one. So, out popped the TJ and I made the decision to put the big tires on it. So, a minor body adjustment and on went some Axial Krawlers and VP OMF wheels. The little TJ didn't disappoint! It completed the 6 hour endurance run! If that wasn't enough fun in one day...went right back out for the night run! The aftermath... I am sure that the hotel staff wasn't happy with the condition of the shower after some rig cleanup lol After that event, I put it on the shelf and had intended to let it hang out there. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago. I had planned to build another C1 rig for ECSC, but I determined that I didn't have time to do it properly and get the test time in. Sooooo...the TJ got some new updates and parts! Hanging out with the C2... I knew that I was going to need some bigger rolling stock for ECSC. So, on went some RC4WD Baja Claw TTC 4.19 tires! I swapped them onto my trusty OMF wheels and on they went. The hubs were a little wide...but we will get to that later. I installed a set of Locked Up Pro Hubs as well as a set of Lil' Nova dual stage foams. Last but not least, I installed a set of .225 SLW hubs. It pulled the wheels in just right! Not a full tire tuck, but like pretty much any lifted jeep out there...the tires stick out a bit! Not pictured is the new Mini 9.5 winch...will get that up shortly! Enjoy! I am in the process of tearing the bumpers and sliders off of it for some fresh paint. After that, off to ECSC! |

There is something about this truck that I love, maybe it is the combination of simple looks on the outside combined with a chassis that looks like 10 lbs in a 5 lb bag (at least the front end). The look with the Mud Thrashers is perfect but I'm sure the performance tradeoff is pretty steep compared to the Baja Claws. Will this truck be making an appearance at the GCM event in Oct? |

Thanks for the compliments! Yes, it will be at the GCM event in October. I really like the looks with the Thrashers as well. But as you mentioned, the ground clearance with the claws is just too big of an advantage to keep the little tires on it. RC4WD Team Driver*Krawl Off-Road |
