| YJ Jeep project.
I just picked this up last night Need quite a bit of work though! I'm thinking I'm going to be sending it over to an expert (51WillysJeep) with these things so he can work his magic Not sure what color it'll end up. I'm thinking of either RC4WDs' mud sligers or there new "baja claw" looking tire they are going to be coming out with will end up on it. It's better than not having one at least Here are a few pics... |

| I'm not sure yet but I think I'm going to re attach it. I'd like to be able to have it removable, but then I'd want a roll cage and a full interior so it does not look like crap when the top is off. Unfortunately I don't think I have the skills to make that happen |

It'll be on it's way to 51WillysJeep's place tomorrow so we'll see what he thinks I've seen his tube work and modeling skill so I'm sure it'll come out great! Besides it's not like he has enough projects going already (sorry Chris)

LOL..!! The SURGEON is in..!!!! LOL..As I said in an earlier post... "There just aren't enough hours in a day..!!!" I can always find time for a Tamiya YJ resto though..!! The chop job on the roof does look pretty good from the pics, but I will have to see it in person to see where we stand... I planned ahead, and bought some styrene sheets today at the LHS, but you need to decide if you want the roof on or off ( i.e. removeable) .... If you roll it with the roof not permenantly attatched though, consider it trashed..!!~!! Because of where this body sits on the chassis, ( fairly low) Its kind of hard to install a full interior and still have room for everything underneath.... realistically It would probably be easier interior wise to put a Newbright body on the chassis instead, and that just ain't happening with this build..., so we will see what happens..!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stay TUNED..!!!!!!!! | |

I agree on the clear windows. Maybe keep the rear tinted but change the windshield and doors. Nice project.

That is awsome!! I bought a tamiya xc / yj new, thrshed it a little and put it on a shelf for years, about a month ago I decided to make a crawler out of it, it is a work in progress but it is a capable rig so far. When I get ahold of a digi tal camra I will post pic's. |

As much as I like these trucks, the XC chassis really isn't fit for a Jeep. Well then again it does have gearbox issues. I can attest to how much fun the chassis is though, I've logged more miles on mine then any other truck in my fleet.
