Thanks pantablo. Its from a highlift kit, this is the perfect use for it since the 1:1 has a very similar looking steering box

Thanks guys, the skid still needs some more work, the driveshafts wont quite clear as is. Also need to get the servos mounted.

DJ, the only reason its clean is to take pics. I am sure the more progress I make the dirtier it will get

Time to get rolling, but before it’s a roller I need to get the axles mounted.
Rear 4 link started. The all thread is for mock up only. The final product will have SS links.

Also Starting on the front. This will replicate the 1:1 version as close as possible

So to start I had to make my own links. Took the 3/16 SS tubing and tapped
it for 6-32 all thread using a #36 bit and 6-32 tap. Remember to always use taping fluid.

Planning on the 3 link with the panhard. Started by welding a TLT link mount to the SS lower links up front. If you look at the pics of the 1:1 this will also be the mounting location for the lower ends of the shocks. That’s why I used 3mm all thread here and tlt rod ends.

You may have already found out, but welding the little kicker braces on both lower links will severly limit your articulation. Most 1:1 vehicles have only one or get away with it cause the bushing ends squirm around alot.

Yes I agree. The top and bottom of the axle must rotate in and out along its radius when the lower links are at opposite angles. So all I did on this was drill out the passenger side tlt rod ends to allow the all-thread to slide in and out. The driverside still acts as a 3rd link to keep the axle square. Now I have them on both sides for shock mounts as well. The panhard is built but not attached yet.

Drumbeater: That is some SS 3/16th that ryan sent me to do the cage work with.

You're no fun, Brandon.

Where are those other two assholes? Are we the only ones building anything?

Looks like a good start Brandon but one thing is bugging me...... The front driveline is on the wrong side! Not very scale IMO. Deducting scale points as we speak. Just kidding!

That thing is looking sweet. Based on the other rigs you have built I am sure it will be as capable as it is cool. Nice job so far.
