I've had this body sitting around just waiting for the right build. I came across Jason's(Willyswanter) 1:1 Chevy build on Pirate the other day. Its very unfortunate what happened to Jason and I think its so cool how his dad and friends are finishing Jason's plans for his rig. I loved the truck and I thought this would be the perfect concept for this build. Cabs not right on but close enough. Hopefully I can get everything else identical to the 1:1. I don't know how fast this build will progress cause I want to take my time w/ this one. Parts list; -SS cab w/ full interior -full custom tube chassis -TLT axles(T-Rexs later) -R2 trans -turned down TLT coilovers -Trail doc XLs The 1:1 I'm basing this build off of: |

I got most of the work done on the cab last night. Trimed the doors, fenders, grill, and windows. I still need to cut the bottom of the doors up and do some work on the back. I really wanted to dovetail the front but the last time I tried, I ruined a good body. Tonight I started some of the tube work and the main frame rails. Let me know what you think. |

Truely a sad thing when he passed. They lost a great guy. On the other hand, I'm really looking forward to your build. |

I just noticed his doors are shorter too and the boat sides, I did not see that at first. Looking forward to seeing the tribute completed.

I didnt see where it said the rig was complete anywhere? Nice start though. Edit: He did say he worked on it some, so maybe that is all it will get :( Still nice though! Last edited by SACCO; 04-09-2008 at 12:59 PM.

that is awesome. it's so cool to see someone finally build a replica of Jason's rig. he was a great guy, and will be missed. his memory will live on through that Chevy forever though... and now maybe a little through the replica. looking forward to seeing the progress. |

Just search google with his screen name. It was very tragic and he was so young. Just reading all the posts about what happened and seeing how loved he was in the off road community brings tears to my eyes. RIP Jason :-( Good luck on the build, it looks like it is coming along nicely.

im an OG coloradok5.com member and i remember when he put the front axle under that truck, when his hitch got stolen, and when the tubing started. i agree its cool that his dad is finishing the truck for him. and its also very cool that youre building a tribute rig for him. if theres anything i can do to help let me know.

It's about time someone built a scaler of this. I wanted to since the first time I saw some clips of it on Youtube.
