| My new FJ Cruiser build
I recently acquired a Tamaya CC-01 Tuareg kit and decided to make it a 1.9 scaler FJ. I chose this body because of the a-arm suspension up front like the 1:1, wanting to keep it as scale as I can. What it has so far: 55t lathe motor XRS esc Hitec 5645 servo locked diffs Nikko FJ body other scale goodies up top What it has coming: snorkle Jerry can scale d-rings brake rotors winch RC4WD Mud Slingers Misc. scale decals glue on bead lock rings Deans boat antenna with whip I also did some modifications to the front end to help with the approach angle and made an aluminum skid plate as well. Thanks for looking and let me know what you think. Brian Last edited by bmuzz1; 08-24-2008 at 10:37 PM. |

| Front end Mod
Here's a couple more shots of the front end mod with skid plate. What I did was cut about 1/2" off the bottom of the chassis where it hung down too low. This helps give the rig better clearance and also helps with approach angles. After I cut the material away I cut to fit and CA'd some 1/16" plastic sign material over the hole. I also cut a small flange that was in the front of the crossmember so that I could slide the skid under it giving it a much smoother finished look. Sorry 'bout the crappy pictures. This is just a quick shot of the bracket I made to mount the body with velcro. Brian Last edited by bmuzz1; 05-29-2008 at 02:05 PM. |

| Some new stuff and the beginings of a trailer.
It has been a little while since I posted an update on this build...mostly because the rig is in the hands of MThead getting a custom delrin bumper with fairlead and fog lights. What I have waiting for it is the hot racing aluminum brake rotors I posted up in another thread, rc4wd 80mm scale shocks w/boots, Hi-Lift jack, off-road light bar, a full set of LED's and a few other goodies. I am also having (5) custom bead lock rings made for the truck by 62PYRO. I also started on my trail trailer while I don't have the truck. This is my first time brazing so it looks a little crappy. The frame is made out of brass tubing which was a real bee-otch to braze! I attached a set of TCS X-trail leafs to the frame which I will attach a brazed tube holding the axle to. I am also planning on using a throttle linkage as a tongue for the trailer so that it will hold the ball securely and swivel when I'm on the trail. I am not sure what I am going to use for the bed of the trailer yet...maybe a plastic tray or I'll have to make one out of styrene. The trailer is 5-1/4"W x 10"L (tongue to tail) Just a few shots of the other stuff waiting to go on the FJ. -Brian |

all of your scale details are sick!, where do you find the screws with the head you can mount d-rings to?
