Default First time build

Well this is the start of a project that I thought was going to be up and running in two weeks how wrong can you be many months later.
I bought most of the kit from a mate that changed direction and went to a different crawler design, I have some parts missing but will get there in the end.

Bruiser chassis
T-Rex 60 axles (remade)
RC4WD white shocks (extended)
R2 tranny with dig on the front wheels (fitted servo mount)
MIP Center Drive Shafts.
White wheels & SDI Trail Doctor XL tires.
Needing motor and Esc.
Working winch.

This is as far as I have got.

The extreme angle these shaft work at are tremendous.
I did actually plan out having the tranny at this height the reason, I don’t like to see all the gearbox hanging below the chassis, I do want it to climb over everything it comes across not just a scaler, a crawler as well, and for this reason I found the MIP’s shafts was better because of this height, (just under 3” or 72mm, to underside of skid ) they are the only shafts I could find that would work so smooth at this angle.
Quite a while ago I worked on a couple of sets of Berg axles and found the optimum angle to clock them to be 30 deg, so I put this principle to work here, the only part that can catch will be the cvd knuckle cup but when it’s revolving it should work it’s self off any obstacle it might touch.

Custom skid plate for future rear four linking, and the MIP shafts are the dog's whotsits.

The idea of the front dig is to lock up the wheels when using the winch this is not fitted in place as yet,
it is planned that when the dig is in lockup, power will be put through to power the winch.

Had to put the shocks inboard as the chassis is very wide at the rear and was getting tire rub.

There was a lot of problems with the splines braking down in the Trace-gear spools in the T-Rex 60 axles so replaced them.
Old spool.

Old splined shafts.

New PHMD spools.

Remade rear axle.

The body shell that will finish it off.

All comments / advice to improve my girl most welcome.

I think it looks absolutely killer and the doc XL's look sweet on there.
