Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... Not too much to update but Eddie at Brood rebuilt my motor and I put in a new VP steering link. With the new link, the front suspension no can bottom out all they way...I think it's really important for a low center of gravity and having full cycle of the shocks. The bigger links I had before were just binding enough for the shock not to bottom out. Currie/SCX Titanium tie rod / drag link VP Website qoute: "Steering tie road and drag link only work with Vanquish high steer zero ackerman knuckles, and vanquish 8 degree scx knuckles." http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...psb426c7f8.jpg Here is a quick shot I took at the WARCRC Scale comp this weekend (8/10/14). Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... I couldn't help my self, I got new parts in the mail yesterday and I just had to see what they looked like with axles for another project I am working on....lol. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...ps8sy3hq43.png http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...psdmehecms.png |
Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... Rig looks killer Justin! Can't wait for the rebuild - the ToyZuki stuff is awesome. |
Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... X2, sweet looking truck with nice pics, can't wait to see your Toyota rebuild. I thinkg the Wrangler flares might look better than the Dingos as you said. |

Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... I was able to put the 1.7 Iroks on my 1.9 VP OMFS. These tires are freaking sweet and C1 legal. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...pstwmh4phh.png |
Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... I have 1.55 Iroks and they are a great tire on dry rock.. but when loaded with mud I don't have enough wheel speed to clean them Backyard Boogie |
Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... Here is a picture from the WARCRC 2016 Scale Comp#2 (2/13/16), the last run with the old setup. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...ps2vxmk50a.jpg Out with the old... http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...psulvk2azc.jpg ...in with the new. I am really happy with the RC4WD fender flares so far but the bolts they came with were too small and had to use bigger bolts so the head wouldn't pull through the rubber fender material. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...ps8na5igy6.jpg The next thing to do is to tear down the chassis and see if I can run my GCM transfer case setup so I can run full size seats.....and maybe some half doors. http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j1...psxae7gz2j.jpg |
Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... Looking good Justin! Really digging the tires and all black wheels! |
Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... I'm liking the new look as well. Classic look on top, all business on bottom. |
Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... Ha! digging the old thread up. Commented on a photo of this rig the other day on facebook, Decided I'd dig up the thread to get some needed inspiration. Glad to hear you're thinkin' about putting this rig back together! "thumbsup" |
Re: Justin's Street(1.9) Truck: SCX10 Hilux.... I just read through the entire thread, what a journey! I can't wait to see how the new body and tires look. |
