Default My first scale rig - fj cruiser truck

This is my first post and first scale rig(so be nice). I think I did an ok job. It's nearly complete, just need to find some scale accessories that don't cost an arm and a leg. I'm not sure if i like its ride height, but the truck bed is already riding on the chassis. So I guess i'll deal

ax10 with xtrail chassis
nikko fj cruiser body

On to the pictures. sorry about the poor images, I hit my camera with my e-maxx the other day...

This is the happy couple before

and after
.

.

as for flex, i need some weight in my wheels yet

I've gained a lot of knowledge in a short time from this forum, thanks everyone. I hope to be a help some day as well.

Thanks again for the comments! It was raining this afternoon so I stayed inside and made a hi-lift jack out of sheet styrene, a bamboo skewer and a paper clip. Got it mounted behind the spare tire in a nice safe place so my hard work won't get broken lol.

Cool FJ! The jack adds a nice touch.

Flat black makes it look agressive! Nice work.

Looks great, I like it.

You should maybe try running those shocks in droop, to lower the ride height and in turn lower the COG.

Thanks!

I took your advice and tried a droop, but it brought my drive shafts to a dangerous angle for traveling. Made some unfriendly noises. I might try something like half and half later on. I have a lot of tuning ahead of me:-(

Default Some firsts

I took the truck for its first trail run today. Overall I'm happy with it. I had a friend with a real camera come along to take some better pictures. Ohio is too flat. Enjoy.

Baby's first tumble

first dip in the water. stayed in the shallow end, not waterproof yet

hitting the trail

I have thing for black toyotas..

that'll buff out

I think half and half may be the way to go, but still a good looking rig you got there.
