Default Crew Cab F-350

My girlfriend just might be getting into remote control trucks after all. Last weekend when we were atthe tractor pulls she decided she would like a RC Ford Crew Cab.

This is what gave her inspiration:

Here is what we started with...

What I'm aiming for...

Here is the progress we have made so far...

Next we have to smooth out the cuts and start stealing pieces from the left over blue cab. Then I can start the long and tedious process of joining it all together. I also have to shorten up the bed to make it look like a short bed.
Thanks for looking,
Justin and Crystal

Yeah, it took a little motivation to get it going.

Probably not, RC pulling isnt that popular around me. But she will pull my YJ when they are both done.

Do you have any tips to throw in? Pablo was kind enough to give some advice. Maybe you might be able to give more.

the hardest part for me was getting the window lines straight on the rear door. all i did was use masking tape to line the rear window sill to the front window sill and scribe the lines for the doors. if i think of more i will chime in

Im afraid you guessed it. Tim, A.K.A. King Cobra passed recently. One of the best scale builders out there. Lost his battle with cancer.

As for the tires and wheels on this, they are undecided. But I am leaving every decision up to Crystal on this one.

Yeah, I have went all through that section admiring his builds from over the years.

A small update... Last night I sat down with Crystal and we picked out a few things for the truck.

Wheels: either CAC soft 8's or Integy 8-hole Gunmetals
Tires: RC4WD Mud Thrashers
Paint: Either bright yellow or Orange(Allen you ought to like that)
Accessories: A black bullbar on the front and black tube steps(westin style)

More updates soon to come after I find another F-350 body to hack up.:-P

Well she started off wanting to replicate the orange Crew Cab from the pics above. Now she has changed her mind and is leaning towards this:

My buddy Chris is doing the bullbar and side steps for this as well. More updates to come.

For the F-350 or the YJ? The F-350 is waiting on final body assembly to make sure it fits.

A small update. I hacked another 3/4" section from the scrap chassis and attached it to th back half. Next i to finish stripping the paint from the two cabs before I join them and close it in. Then is to strip the paint from the bed and shorten it to look like a shot bed rather than a long bed.
