| JK Meets LR3
Just started this-based on a CC-01 chassis, I decided to make a JK version of the LR3. I could only wish Land Rover would make something like this. Have a lot more to do but here is it.

I also figured out a way to attach the body using magnetic posts. Don't know if this has been done before but it makes it really easy to pull the body on and off. Will start on interior details tomorrow.

Started on exterior cage-almost reminiscent of the Defender but with 4 doors. Will try to go for an OEM look-we'll see. The roof section of the cage will have slats across the top to double as a rack. Any thoughts/comments welcome!

I found a donor 1/10 LR3 cheap-it's the other version you see on eBay with the opening doors and interior. I am going to use that one to scavenge parts for the interior on this one-

i tried to mount a body on an scx10 just using 4 neodymium magnets but the body was just popping off far too easily. it seems like industrial strength velcro is a better way to do it if you don't want to drill holes in the body. | |

Very neat ideas. I like the body posts, did you glue a plate to the inside of the body?

| There are female connectors fixed to the body made of tubing that is sized to fit over the posts. Those are mounted to the body with steel inserts. I can pick the whole vehicle up by the body without a problem. The best magnets I found were (believe it or not) in older My Little Pony dolls by Hasbro. They have magnets in the feet and are very strong. They are not made anymore.

| Yes-with the rear suspension in extended position. This is the New Bright body-Note there is another LR3 RC in 1/10th scale which is actually truer in detail and proportions-I do not know who makes it but they are on eBay all the time. That one has detailed interior, opening doors, hood and hatch and a longer wheelbase more suited for SCX chassis or similar.

correct, mine is a New Bright. The more detailed one with full interior and opening doors/hood/etc is by Rastar and is a little bigger. wheel base is longer too.
