| 3-speed - single channel
I looked around for a bit and couldn't find anything here, so I thought I would post up to see if anyone knows a solution for this one. I run my Tamiya F-350 highlift with a JR Z1 radio. My problem is this: -The aux channel is not a 3 position type. -when you push the button, it is either on, or off. Like for high/low gear. But not 3 gears. Thus i only get high, or low gear, but not 2nd. I looked for some sort of adapter. But that proved to be frustrating. Like a latched relay or adapter. I even looked at programmable servo's to see if any would except a momentary command and then execute the preset positions, but no luck. So if anyone could help that would be great. I really don't want to use my DX6i to run the truck just to get all 3 speeds outta my tranny. Thanx. |

I got rid of my Z-1 because it was such a pain in the ass to program. However, 3-position 3rd channel is possible, you just have to really dig for it in the menu.

You're kidding? I've been using this radio for 4 years now. I thought I knew it inside out. Where do you recall is the program for this? |

I got rid of the thing so I wouldn't have to recall. It's been a couple years. A week after I sold it a guy at the LHS showed me how.

If you get tired of the Z-1, Futaba 3PDF is a EASY radio to set up. Will take you 1 minute to set up 3spd third channel. They typically sell for $30 used. |

I work at an LHS part time, and I have tried all the radios we sell, and I always keep going back to my Z1. Mainly cuz I race 1/8th, 1/10th and elec touring. And this radio have the drop down / angle attachment I need to keep my hands comfortable during long mains. Well this is now going to become a challenge for me to find it. I have been playing with the radio every minute I can to see if I can find this setting, but still cannot. If anyone has any tips as to what I should be looking for, that would be great. |
