Andy actually decided that he should just give this truck to me. It was a very generous donation, I am just waiting by the mail box now.

That's the ONLY way you'll get a finished rig

Been thinking of dusting the Montana muck off this one and doing a slight rebuild. probably soon

Default 2011 Rebuild!

OK, bout time to get back on this thing, I have every intention of beating the snot outta this thing in Montana this year, and hope I can get voted back in the TTC.

That means rebuild time. I hadn't touched this since May and was just plain burned out on R/C all together. Chino made me up a super bad ass light bar that spawned some inspiration to get going on this thing.

Steel frame, made to fit my rig, and just as bright as the original. Slimmer in design to so I can tuck it in the cage better to keep it protected.

With the rebuild I'm going to do a color change, but if i'm going through all that trouble, I need to do something about those panels....

any guesses what the plan is? we'll see if I can pull off the hood...

Can't wait Andy, I was wondering if you were gonna start back at it. I love this truck and the new light bar is sick too. Knowing your attention to detail and how well you did this. The hack-a-lac will certainly be one of the greats of RCC and MSD's

Yup ditching the plastic. so far aluminum sides, not sure about the hood, may have to do steel, or could go fiberglass also, not sure yet..

Started on the hood, only got it tacked up, ran out of shielding gas. Obviously have a way to go, but I think I'm on the right track...

Might revisit the 550 idea, gearing wasn't an option in Montana and that was my first test. that and it was a pretty hot motor. Hoping I can find a 30-35t 550 motor. Might go brushless if money allows though..

Got the other side panel done, and threw the wheels and tires back on to make sure I got the scale right on the hood before I finish with it.

How many times did you have to rebend those side panels?..This was one of my favorite rigs in the MSD DVD. (Make sure you beef up the drivetrain)

Once

Having them in plastic, and using graph paper helps a lot.
