So after seeing Dean's (Chino63) Actung Unimog build, I just had to make those sick little portals. Needed a vehicle to put them under so I decided to build the ugly brick. After finding some drawings and dimensions of the full-size I started doing some scale conversions. For the axle width I ended up with a scale of 1:9.35. Body is 8" wide and 18.5" long. Trying to decide if I can pull off leaf springs on the MRC axles. I'll definitely try but we'll see. (Sorry about the cell phone pics, thought I had a good camera out in the garage) Here's the MRC Axles with the 3Racing Portals. It still amazes me how Dean found out how simple this was. CLEARANCE!     |
