Default Og hilux build

So i got my og 1985 hilux back, and i plan to make it a little better than it was when new, it will be a slow project due to funds and parts availability, i plan on keeping the the axles, tranny, chassis and body obviously, i am putting away the stock esc and battery pack, not sure on if i should remove the electronics box altogether, plans are to get some 1.9 rok lox for it. So here goes, some pics

This is how i got it, not sure what color to paint it yet

After some cleanup and regreasing of the tranny

Og tires are no good anymore, so i installed bfg's for now

Removed the stock leafs which had no arch left on them and put some hilift leafs on it.

Got some decent flex now

just a suggestion/idea for removing the paint. maybe try some Castrol or Purple Power degreaser instead of the oven cleaner.

Ive soaked hard bodies in the purple power for weeks and not a sign of damage to the body, hate to see the oven cleaner cause problems on an OG body of that age.

Thanks for the tip, couple of pics after it sat out last night soaked on oven cleaner, doesn't seem to have harmed the plastic body so far.

A little update, oven cleaner has worked great so far

Prepping the cab

I am also working with tire size, this way i will know what to get for sure, pics of some tamiya bfg(roughly the same size as stock), hilift tires ( a little taller) and some ugly cut and shut lizzards i tried to make myself, they come in a hair under 4"

Well the Pactra rattle can really sucked, i wanted to paint it a dark blue but the paint didn't come out as planned, i am debating if i should leave like it is and just paint a fender or two flat black for the beater with a bad paint job look, on another note i put the new tires in and it worked great, no foams and stock rims with the plastic inner tire liner, anyways a couple of pics.

Well it only takes me a year to come with any kind of updates, so i finally got the tranny and servo to work like they should, it now shifts great, i also put in a better steering servo, i made some shocks ala 1BadJeepBruiser and used tlt parts which came out nice, but i ended using the stock monroe pieces, and lastly before i paint it over again, i would like some input, should i leave the front without a brushguard or should i put one on, the proline one i would have to cut the bumper from the grill to fit, lmk

Plain

Option 1

Option 2 stock guard

Option 3 stinger style (this pics are for general ideas, the actual stinger would need to be made)

I like the no worries bumper the best, it looks aussie to me! Just ditch the stock bumper and maybe take a little out of the middle of the brushguard part so it doesnt sit above the hood once you place it where the original bumper sits and it will be perfect!

Thanks for the input, so the stock one it will be, i am also looking for some help, i need a new pinion, what pitch exactly are the ones used on these rigs, i have tamiya 32pitch, robinson 32 pitch, tamiya 48 pitch and robinson 48 pitch and none work like the original, is it psossible 32 pitch metric or some oddball .6 mod pinion?
