Unhappy Novak Terra Claw in High Lift

Has anyone experienced this?

Recently bought a Novak Terra Claw motor for my Hilux High Lift.. It seems I cannot get the plastic cover to fit over the pinion and spur gear now because a) the shaft of the motor is longer than on the stock motor and possibly b) the pinion now sticks out too far even when mounted as close as possible to the motor.

thanks!

With the longer shaft on this, are you mounting the pinion with set screw out versus inward?
Can you use a cut-off wheel to shorten the shaft and grind a new flat further in for the set screw?

Thanks.. have ordered a motor spacer.. I think that will be easier than modifying the shaft.
