| Robotboy's Rock Bug
After seeing Siggy's Rock Bug build here on RCC I just had to build one. If mine turns out half as nice I'd be happy. Talked one of my fellow club members "JMZ6" into building the frame for me. As usual he did an amazing job!!!! The plan, for now....... RC4WD T-Rex D-35 aluminum axles LNC Tranny w/HR Steel gears, yup, no dig. We shall see. RC4WD Scale Drive Shafts RC4WD 100mm Ultimate Scale Shocks CC Sidewinder ESC (waterproofed) Brushed Motor ?? Hitec 5645 servo (waterproofed) 3Racing winch, inboarded CAC 1.9 6spoke Beadlocks PL TSL Super Swampers CI Lil Nova Dual Stage Foams Will eventually have some kind of interior. Will cross that bridge when I get to it. I'm not real good with little detail work but I'll give it a go. This will be a slow build, but here's what I have so far. Suggestions and critizism welcome Here's a few pics from the frame build. The complete frame build can be seen on GSRCRC.com here: Robotboy's Creation This is the initial mock up. I'm sure a few things will change before it's done. Last edited by Robotboy; 09-30-2011 at 09:29 PM. |

Started trying my hand at an interior. I've never tried anything like this. Please keep that in mind Anywho, I've had this old Mattel dune buggy sitting here for a while. I looked at it the other day and said hummmmmmmmmmm... and started chopping. Here's what I got as of now. Not a bad fit. |

I wasn't happy with the steering I had setup. So I had to get back to that... | |

...so after multiple configurations, I came up with this. Turned the servo sideways and extended the servo arm (stainless steel). Made up a steering arm to attach to the knuckle and hooked a rod between the two. Seems to work very well & clears everything, whatcha think |
