| Installed Axial Inner Wheel Weights
Thought I would post a picture of my installed Axial Wheel weights. The install went well. Everything bolted up easily. The weights were made well and the fit and finish was excellent. These are really well designed I'm sure getting stick on 1:1 balancing weights would be just as easy or easier and cost much less, but they weren't easily available and hell, I've got money to burn The Axial stuff came packaged nicely: I had problems getting one of the wheel weights to press into the wheel's center section. Upon closer inspection there was a casting nub'n sticking up about an 1/8" that was the root of a bad fit. Cut the plastic nub'n off with a pocket knife and perfecto: Dissasembly: A View of the weight system before installed into wheel centersection: Here's the view of it installed and bolted on wheel: I'm happy with how they turned out. I went as heavy as I could in the front by adding six 9 gram wheel weight inserts into the 43 gram wheel weight ring for a total of 98 grams of added weight per tire in front. Rears got just a weight ring for a total of 43 grams per tire. I thought someone might beable to use this thread, or if nothing else a newbie might stumble across it during a search. i searched for this exact writeup and didn't find it so I posted it up thinking someone else may someday want to know exactly how the Axial weight kit works. I'm gonna test her out this weekend if the snow doesn't stack up to tall. |

Call me crazy, but it looks like there are slide in weights that weigh 9g or 0.33oz each. (the conversion is actually .317oz in my converter.) I haven't seen these before, but they look pretty cool. Stick on weights still get my vote! Last edited by Team Tactical Bacon; 02-25-2011 at 01:53 PM. |
