Default Mini Me Hilux

Well I traded the tj for this little gem
It's a trail finder hilux, lead sprung front and rear with scale Toyota axles. 20t motor, CMS steering. Rc4wd tranny. Still need to finish assembly. Planning on having the bed doved and bobbed like my old first gen. Bed will get a cage. Linking the rear but leaving the front on leaf springs.

I was planning on linking the rear of this truck but can't find a kit available, so until I have some spare time to design a truss and bracket system it's going to stay leaf sprung. How much softer are the red springs than the black ones

The red springs are the way to go IF you are going to stay leaf sprung. You can even make a set of "overloads" out of your stock black springs, if the reds are too soft

Thanks, the front is going to stay lead sprung for sure. The back however will get linked at some point.

Well I made some progress today, got the grille, glued in and lifted the body up enough to clear the flatirons, mounted the bed.

Then had to take it out for some snow wheelin.

Great looking rigs. The 1:1 is the epitome of what many do on here with their Lux's. Multi colored panels, about that tire size, etc. You gonna do the same colors?

I have access to a tig welder at work so I think we will give that a try on this truck. Should make welding all the little nuts for panels alot easier.

Changed plans up a little, in order to keep this. Class 1 legal I can't dove the bed, so I'm thinkin that I'll just bob the bed and build a rear bumper like this .

Yeah its made by Marlin Crawler, I'm going to have to build a new front bumper as well, hit the curb full speed in front of my house and crushed the pass side. Apparently it wasn't made for high speed impact
