Default Class 2 or 3 Tundra Truggy

After seeing Difuser's Red Bull Truggy at Nat's this year I knew I had to build one. It's not going to be an exact copy but it will have many of the same lines.

Spec's

SCX-10 Chassis truggied with custom tubework. 90% of it will be done with 3/16" chromoly tube for high strength and low weight.
Axial axle upgrades all around, Axial Shocks, hardened tranny outputs, etc
Hand Bros CMS Kit
Holmes Waterproof ESC and Crawlmaster Pro 13t motor
I'm not sure which tires I'll run in the end but it will fit 4.75" tall tires as it sits and could fit larger with some tweaking.
At some point it will get a full interior but I'm not sure when.

This is after about 5-6 hours of work this morning. Without a doubt it's been some of the most technical tube work I've ever had to do. Following the line of the cab and fenders is a nightmare but they turned out pretty good.

Cripes, 5 to 6 hours. I would spend that long just fumbling with things and getting my first finger cut and not make any progress.

Looks great so far.....as always

I've built whole scalers in that long. I had to do the rear hoop twice. It turned out much better the second.

Woohoo, can't wait to see your take on this. You nailed the front fenders and the main hoop....PITA!

Thanks and thanks for the inspiration.

It's about as hard to bend as solid 3/16". It doesnt collapse in sharp bends like brake line does. It's my favorite to work with so far.

Looking good, Zach! Can't wait to see more....

Are you getting the chomoly from McMaster? I've been thinking of trying some, too.

Ok, last question, what are you bending it with?

One of the reasons I like the solid is I can bend it in my vice.

Thanks Tommy. I just got it off Ebay. Search 3/16" chromoly tube.

I'm bending 90% of it in the vice. I can't seem to bend stuff where I want with the bender no matter what I do. Brake line is terrible to bend with a vice, this works quite well.

A little more done. This is the main thing I'm doing different than Difuser

I use a SS tube from a local it's used mainly for hydraulic lines. For bending I use one of the Eritrx benders. Strength is great and I've not had any bent chassis from some big hits.

I like the change in the grille Zach

How's the brazing with the chromo tube? Looks like it accepts it well.

I need to get an Eritex bender. I use the K&S bender and it works alright but it's just hard to really pin point the bends.

Kind of like a combination of brake line and solid. I really like it because it's so easily controlled.

I need to try some other foams in them. The size is just right. It will probably end up with some Pit Bull 1.9's on it though.
