Default SgtSteve's Class 2 JK

Finally decided to post my Jeep here. Here is the build thread from over the last several months. I will post new updates here and @ TXRCRCA.com from now on. While your there be sure to check out all the great Texas rigs

Started as a stock Honcho

Parts list

Body: NB 4DR JK
ESC: Holmes Hobbies BR-XL
CC BEC set to 7v
Motor: Holmes Hobbies Torque Master Pro 540 (35t) ***Absolutely awesome motor***
Servo: HS-7950TH @ 7v
Winch Servo: MG946R w/HeyOk HV controller **This controller kicks butt**
TX/RX - Futaba 3PM-X 3-Channel w/R603FF reciever
Tires: RC4WD 1.9 Rok Lox **Comped with these a few times now and really like them. I would love to get some Nova foams in them eventually.
**EDIT**
Wheels:
These will be going on my Class 1 build now. For the JK, I just picked up a set of LockedUp's 1.9 Trail Ready wheels/rings. Just like the The Scale Shop wheels, these are fantastic. Super easy to mount, very well machined, plenty of hex depth and the perfect offset for this build.
The Scale Shop OE 5 spoke aluminum ***Really hard to come by, but If you ever see a set for sale, get them!!! The easiest set of rims I have ever mounted tires to and the overall quality is top notch
Batteries: 2200mah 3s from
VP Knuckles
Axial CVD's with Gunner pins
Gunnar "Beef" Toobs in the front axle
Axial HD gears (under drive) in the rear axle
Krawler Konceptz license plate - yet to be mounted
R2J Heavy Duty Pull Pal
R2J Kustoms Steel 4 Link Axle Truss on rear axle

Hand made parts (by me):
Front and rear bumper
Servo and winch servo mounts
Links

Here is how it looks today...

New servo mount, winch servo will sit in front of it.

Disregard the front bumper here, it was loud stinky brain fart!!

Need to redo the electronics mounting but here is how I had it.

Interior w/ very little trimming to make room for the trans.

Carpet

Things to do:
Trim the front fender flares a bit more
Clean and paint the front bumper, along with installing a fairlead and at least one tow point.
Redo front fender wells, have the material just need to trim and paint.
Make new electronics box
More.....tired of thinking for now

I have a lot more pics, and alot more work into this thing than whats posted so if you have any questions on any of it please feel free to ask, I like to share

Sure did. First to the Bulldog winch, worked great, then remembered I had an MG946R Tower Pro that didnt work anymore. Light came on, solder came out, and now I have a great working servo winch. That controller is awesome! Thank you Eric and HeyOk!!!

Thank you.

For the all the links I used 8-32 threaded rod sleeved with 1/4" brake line and traxxas rod ends.

Ended up with the Jeep? Not sure what you mean?

Got a few things done today:

Front bumper painted
New rear body mount
Painted the rings (great suggestion Cory!)

After next weekends comp I plan to make tube shock mounts front and rear along with a new front body mount. Eventually I will get the plastic roll cage out and replace it with a steel one.

Did a little today to prep for tomorrows comp...

Re-did the rear bumper to make it a little lighter and fit better given that I also trimmed the fender flares front and rear.

Bumper stickers front and rear - now its rockin'!

Still need a fairlead

Great job i think you did a great job.
Just in my option, you might want to reverse the angle of the chassis mount. Like this.

It make a smoother transition. Just my 2 cents.

Damn, I wish I had made that trip to Bull Creek. Looks like you guys had a blast.

The Jeep's looking good. I hadn't thought about running a servo winch quite like that.
