outstanding! .. detail is incredible. im really impressed with the frame, that must be one good blade you have cause i have the same saw and its not easy to work with aluminum on it even with a metal blade.. are the blades you use avalible somewhere online?

bandsaw blades are cheap, so most machine shops just toss them out when they break or get dull. If you find an "old school" machine shop they probably have a bandsaw blade weld station and will cut and weld your blade for little or no cost.

All that I can say is simply amazing!!! And now I have the unimog bug. I think I will be building me one of these over the winter. Just got to get rid of a rig first so the old lady doesn't lose her marbles... She'll get over it. BRAVO |

I don't have any training in machining except for a highschool class I took ages ago. I work in Architecture so I have access to CAD, which may give me an advantage. Everything else was made with simple shops tools. So, if anyone wants to tackle a project but is unsure, keep at it. A great deal of things can be done cheaply and effectively without a full machine shop feel free to ask me specific questions Last edited by Jessf; 10-20-2011 at 02:45 PM.
