Default A.j. Kustoms "lil' yj"

I stole this little girl from KaeTwo in Jan. of last year, and built her up for MSD SCALE NATS.

Well I got burned out on the Landy (basically I'm too lazy to build a full caged rig right now )

So I thought I would take on a far more easy build-up. As it turns out, this rig has turned into one of the most difficult rigs to setup that I've done.

The goal was this;

- 89deg approach angle
- 10.25" wheelbase
- Jeep Hardbody
- Axial High Clearance Steering Knuckles
- Hand Brothers Steering Kit
- Tranny mounted 1/2" forward
- Very stock looking

This combination made it a bitty to get the steering, pan hard, drag link, etc...all aligned. After hours of building and tearing down, I finally got a pretty clean and solid setup.

Next, I fabbed up a set of front and rear bumpers with a swingout tire carrier. I plan on using this as a dual purpose rig. Trail and Expedition. With a simple tire change, I should be right inline with the rules.

Up on the docket are adding rock armor to the bodies rear quarter panels, paint and electronics. I also plan on putting in an interior down the road.

What do you think?

Aaron drives a hard bargin. Basically he bullied me into selling it.

He even brought aunt Bootsy into the mix....

So I have had a little time to get started on the YJ. Should have some pics up soon.

Here's what I'm planning:

- HITEC HS-5625MG (WINCH)
- A.J. CUSTOM WINCH PLATE
- PRO-LINE POWER STROKE SHOCKS (FRONT)
- TAMIYA TOURING CAR SHOCKS (REAR)
(Stole idea from Zach. Hope you don't mind Zach. )
- Modify fender flares & remove steps
- Metal Rock Sliders
- 3D interior

I found a little time sunday to get some body work done. It still needs a little trimming on the front fenders, but it's close!

I have been completly slammed at work and going to be out of town for most of the month, which is really killing my time for builds. I did manage to trim the front fenders and change tires & wheels.

What do you guys think?

She is all wired up and ready for some testing at Area 51 & Little Moab! I had to change the front bumper for Montana, I think it turned out good. I plan on getting the interior & paint done after she is all dialed in.

Well I guess it's time to get ready for the 2012 Axial Scale Champs.
The " LIL' YJ " needed some TLC.

All disassembled

Chassis sand blasted & painted!

Finally built the front fender wells and made some turn signal lenses.

Damn AJ. I am so jealous of your skills.

I need to get to the comps earlier so I can check out your trucks up close.

It looks killer.

THANKS GENTS! The Dingo Flares take a beating, plus they are easy to replace if they get to messed up.

Did you have any major fitment issues getting the dingo flares on there? Also, where did you snag that interior from?

They both look amazing and since I have a CC01 I would totally love to steal that from you, if thats ok. I have already attached a SCX front bumper on it, and am planning on adding the rear, and if I can get some sweet flares on it to make it look a little more like a modded 1:1 I would be totally stoked.

Also, one of the coolest YJs on here!

Thanks for the props!

The Dingo flares fit fairly easy, I just did a little reinforcement behind them. I built the interior, PinchFlat Seats & a NIKKO TJ console.
