| Landcruiser Doublecab Truck
Bored with the other Landcruiser, I have decided to start another. This time it'll be a doublecab. The starting point is a pair of Radio Shack Crocodile Hunter bodies.

This is the kind of truck I am going for. Definitely a Class 1 machine. Not sure yet if it'll be based off of a TF2 or an SCX10 with leaves. Or a mixture of both (TF2 axles with SCX frame and custom leaves). Last edited by pixelnate; 10-31-2012 at 08:37 PM. |

Why O why can't we get something this cool in the US? It probably has something to do with safety regulations - 5mph bumpers or something stupid like that... And who needs 5mph bumpers anywho? T |

| Re: Landcruiser Doublecab Truck Nah, I am thinking of building a styrene bed with just enough tubing for rollbars to get the SORCCA points. The crazy tubing is on the other LC. This one will sort of be like this landcruiser, but with a rollbar at the front and at the rear of the bed so that I can add a roof rack like my other LC. Or maybe I'll just do the single hoop behind the cab and put a rook rack on the cab.

More inspiration. I am thinking that the bed will be something like this. Really I am just digging this truck overall.

Wow. Has it really been this long since I posted on this thing. I guess I'm on the 5 year build plan. I have started filling in the roof holes on this one and my other fj. Still a long way to go, but because of the way the other truck is going in going to spend a but more time on this one. In addition to working on the body, I secured a new chassis that I'll be putting GCM tranny relocation kit on. That way I can make use of the HD parts in the Axial transmission and still have a transfer case to keep the interior unfettered. Hers a pic of the body in its current state. Tappa who? |

Apparently, I really am on the five year plan. I've been thinking about this truck recently, while I am doing all of the other things that are consuming my time, and I have begun to think that the shape of this truck might actually be closer to a Mercedes G500. What do y'all think? More info on Highsnobiety. |

You could find this Merco truck 6x6 in China on Bestgear or Banggood for around 160$. It's really worth it, I bought one a month ago and it's great fun with some lights and a winch. |
