| TheManCave's Unlimited Rubicon
So I've had the new scx for about a week now ran it bone stock, it did pretty good, in fact better than any other rig axial has put out yet straight out of the box. However, there were a few things I did to not only put my own personal touch on it but to also address the known issues of the scx platform. First obviously is one of the weakest links, the transmission: Solution as always full Robinson Racing internals. Second would be the Marshmallow links. I had some honcho links laying around and have redone the rear lowers, still need to do the front and both uppers. I also removed the stock 27t motor in favor of a Holmes Hobbies 35t torquemaster pro. For now I am still running the wb8 shafts but I have a set of JunFac hardened carbon steels to replace. The other major issue was relocating the battery to the front instead of like the dingo in the rear. This was easily done by cutting a honcho battery tray spacer down to size and screwing it in. Although the Maxxis Trepador tires performed very well for a glued on tire I had the urge to bolt up my Vanquish OMF 1.9 scalers with a set of Komp Kompound PitBulls with .475 hubs and ditching the narrow 12mm hexes for the old school wide ones giving the jeep a wider stance. I always have liked the scx10 shocks but for a cleaner and more performance oriented stand I swapped out to a wider aluminum bodied threaded shocks I got from King James here on Rcc. As for the body I took off the spare tire carrier too much weight in the back and removed the stock running boards and replaced them with a set of JunFac side steps. The only thing left for now that I see an immediate, but usual need is aluminum steering links. With all that being said how bout a few pictures? |

Rogue hubs I got a while back I have another set on my F-150 tow rig. I absolutely love the front shot of the rig, it looks mean with a wide stance and helps big time with side hilling.

The omfs and pitbulls are a killer combo. Axial kits are great, but the upgrades come quickly. Great out of the box, but greater after the aftermarket. |

What issues did you have with the transmission in the SCX10 platform? New stance looks good |

| Re: TheManCave's Unlimited Rubicon I've always had issues with either the ears breaking completely off the outputs since they are not one piece or HD even broken the "HD" Axial ones, and the idler gear is nortorious for stripping out on me. Maybe I've just had a few bad kits/rtr's but it seems to be a common problem lol. Its all part of the game you know yo have to buy upgrades from the start
