Default "The Clod-Hopper"

This is my first build thread and first time messing around with styrene I've have always been hesitant to try but after watching the guys build such incredible stuff here I couldn't resist.

The plan for this is to do the body and build a flat bed, bumpers and sliders out of tubing, then put it on my existing chassis and running gear that has already been recycled more than once. Since the frame rails already have so many holes I'm planning to braze right to it this time.

Here goes...
This is the body the day the mailman dropped it off on the porch, was originally going to keep it whole but then after looking at it for a while decided to cut it up

Here are some of the post saw shots and the cab back fill in. So far it looks a lot like recently finished truggy but it'll be different.

nice start Hopper. Did disconnecting and reconnecting your saw blade get old? It looks like it was worth it though.

You've obviously done your homework. Great job on the jump in and work on the cab back styrene. Keep it up, and post up with progress!

I'll have some tonight I hope. I've spent the last two evenings figuring out what's wrong with and fixing the furnace Thanks to Google & Youtube I was able to find out it was a fan control switch Only $70.00 at Preferred Appliance Parts in town, and works like new

Used the heat gun and moved the fenders in. Glued em up, they fit up pretty good then cut the grill down. Gonna try to do the type of insert with the wide bar in the middle & Chevy emblem. We'll see, may end up using some aluminum screen if it ends up being too much trouble.

Any ideas or pointers feel free to post 'em.

I think it's the same bender you have. It works great on tubing, nice tight bends without any kinks

Wow hopper, for a first timer with styrene your work looks super clean......at the rate your going you shouldn't have any trouble fabing that center piece of the grill. Rpp has a silverado emblem kit that includes a bowtie emblem to finish of your masterpiece. I'll be watching

Wow hopper, those seams closed up flawlessly. Can't tell what is a molded body line and where you glued it.

Thanks a bunch guys! I'm sure there's a better or easier way but I cut the hood open with a fine tooth hacksaw blade right next to the joints and then sanded the excess off so the joint was right up against the new part of the hood. I didn't know RPP had that Chevy stuff I was wondering where to get it, that will be perfect, thanks for the heads up. Tonight's gonna be get the Honcho ready for G6 night.

One thing I noticed while working with the styrene is you tend to use a lot of cuss words

Still working on the body but have some ideas about the chassis.
Decided to do a hood scoop and got started on the grill. This stuff is a lot easier than I thought, just gotta learn to go a little easier on the cement. Less is definitely more
