| EP's Tree Fity
Got mine Friday by some miracle, and slapped it together. I left the coil springs out of the shocks. The rebound control with the spring inside is absolutely terrible! I have the spring packs set up as "Normal". It has a little bit of sag fully loaded RTR. I started out with it stock, and after two minutes, I locked the rear diff. And then about two minutes after that, I locked the front diff. And I then left the diff covers off. All they do is scrape on everything. Obviously the steering took a hit when I locked the front diff, but the truck just sucked off roading unlocked. It can't do off cambers very good, and it's a good thing I left the mirrors off because they'd be goners by now. It's rolled over a few times taking full steering lock corners in 3rd, proving to me that painting the body is pointless. Plane Jane! It's just going to get all scratched up unless I cover it in a bunch of clearcoat. And I just don't care that much. Though I might do the front bumper all black, like the Super Duty has. But it too will just get all scraped up so I doubt it. Ford sold em in white, so I'll probably just leave it and beat it! Or beat it and leave it. I stuck an Airtronics 361 Rock Crusher servo in there for steering, overkill for sure. The included servo saver is a mushy turd, and it allows a lot of play in the steering. As does the steering box before the drag link. I'm using the Z590 servo from the Spekrum DX3 for shifting, and had to reduce it's throw by half. A Novak Super Rooster, and the stock motor. I had to tighten down the slipper clutch more than Tamiya recommended, it slipped a lot. The truck can go pretty darn slow with the stock motor, so I'm not sure changing it is needed really. And the truck can get moving along nicely with it too, so a higher wind count may not be the funnest. Wool seeeee. This thing is awesome to drive. Just don't compare it to your TLT crawler. Take it for what it is and it's so cool. Shifting is new to me, and it's cool to hear it bang through the gears. I feel better if I let off the gas, or even completely stop before shifting, but it still does it's thing at full throttle. Couple pictures. |

Looks great, now all you need is a Loch Ness monster driver. Anyone who watches south park will get the reference.

| Very nice....
I love it. Mine will be in tomorrow (cough cough) I think I may be coming down with something and may not be able to come into work tomorrow (cough cough) :-) I know that everyone is a little concerned about painting up the body due to it getting all scratched up, but there is always ritz dye. I dyed up a Kyosho Motorcycle and it turned out great! And it take a beating. Just a thought. |

The dye is a pretty sweet idea, I just might. Black dye seems safest to try. | |
