I bought this chassis out of the classifieds here and after some searching found it was originally built by K9POPO. Its all brazed brakeline and very well built. There was a build thread by chaotic crawlers that had it built with AR60s but when I got it I decided to try and put ax axles and 1.9s under it. It was a easy build for the most part, just made some upper links for the front and modded the rails for steering clearance specs are 13" WB, 2-3/8' belly height ax axles with vp chubs+knucks, HD 38-13 gears, S3R solid locker, axial cvds, rear is vp lockouts, hr spool, HD underdrive gears axial trans mounted backwards with steel RRP gears and S3R case, MIP shafts, 87/16 48p traxxas stampede aluminum bigbores with scx springs set in 1/3 droop vp steering linkage and 5955 servo old ass mamba max and a tekin HD 45t motor tss wheels with locked up hardware on pitbulls, 475 hubs front, 350 rear this isn't much of a build thread since all I did was basically assemble it but the results are awesome. This rig does everything better then any 1.9 rig ive ever ran. Its low and has a very low cog, the shocks work perfectly on this rig, it has no torque twist to speak of. Ive been building crawlers since 2004 and this is the single most capable all around rig ive had. Ill be holding on to this one for a long time. Future plans are a simple 2d interior(twin hammers?), a paint job, install a dinky fuel cell, rework the nose of the truck for more steering clearance and a better look and a fxr esc. Ive got at least 10 2600mah packs thru it and no issues so far. |
