Default Subarux Hirux now with more RC4WD D44s!

Been quite a few years since I competed, I think the last was MSD scale nats 08 A lot has changed since then but, with the help of some assholes I know, I am hoping to put together a pretty cool rig for this event. I actually didnt have anything that fit class 2, well I did but my fj40 doesnt have a windshield so that was out...While cruising the classifieds for an early birthday present the other week I stumbled upon a pretty cool Hilux project and scooped it up. I then ordered some goodies from RC4WD and cleared the work mat off...

Got myself quite a nice parts list here...
RC4WD Yota axles
RC4WD yota 4 link kit
RC4WD Yota steering kit
RC4WD KING 90mm scale shocks
62pyro lower 4 links
Vaterra wheels with MThead Yota beadlock rings
Pitbull tires
Axial frame set with rear shock mount
Custom Hilux body with bobbed/dropped and dovetailed bed, pinched nose, trimmed flares, custom bumpers and roll bar/sliders
Proline scale accessories

1st up was to crack the axles open and pack the full of grease

4 link brackets and steering installed

filled the KINGS up with some 30wt and installed them

62Pyro blinging lower links

Axial trans installed with pede shafts and steel yokes (might be upgrading those...)

I was going to order a CMS then I remember I had a spare Tf2 frame that I have been stealing parts from...the rails were molested bad but the cross members and other parks have going to good use. I cut the front servo mount down, re-tapped it and installed into the axial chassis

I have spent the last day or 2 getting the body up to snuff, this included things like my infamous Hilux flat black hood, details such as window trim and door lines painted in, MThead emblems, new head lights and grill lights. I also stole the dash and door panel kit from the clone to the 3rd power. I wasnt happy with how the brown match the real truck but itll work great in this.

MTHead emblems, inner fenders well, its all about the little details...you may or may not have noticed the vent windows I added

Tossed the 22r out, this bitch has a detuned 500horse power Subaru 2.7 stroker with a rotated 6266

Interior parts in paint

Had a couple of bucks left over from my Bday, so these goodies are in route...

Locked Up RC TG replica wheels and rings

Holmes Hobbies BXLR Water proof ESC and 35t motor

Thats its for now, work 3-11 today. More progress this week...

thanks for looking
-Mike

Beautiful truck! Your misspelling in the title made me say it with a bad Korean accent.

How did you get the Pitbulls to seat on the TH's Beadlocks.
Was it just the new rings or did you do something else?

I am using the new rings on the front and stock axial rings on the rear and they went together flawlessly.

Where did you pick up the Vatera wheels? That is a sick combo with the pits wrapped around them. And MTHeads beads add icing on the cake.

Super clean C2 build

They are off of my twin hammer actually, I just got a set of vanquish wheels for the TH and had these sitting around. They are nice and narrow and puff the tire up and have more offset then the stock axial BL wheels, and as a bonus the axial bead lock rings fit them if I hadn't seen the locked up TG replicas I would definitely use them but the locked up wheels just looks so gooood

I actually bought the body/chassis set up originally because of the color, I am a big fan of burnt orange/copper looking colors.

I can't wait to tear up the course either, it's been to long. I am sure there will be guys with the right camera equipment so hopefully it ends up in some good pics.

I am still so torn on having a driver in the rig...they always looks so damn out of proportion if I do find one to fit it definitely will sport a helmet from something like the vaterra TH

Thanks, I hope it'll be able to hold its own...but at the end of the day I could be DFL and that won't matter as long as it looks the part. It's been a few years since I have crawled competitively so I am sure my skills are rusty at best. I would love to take home a concours award though I have quite a few details planned for this truck that I am hoping will get it to stand out. The scene is gonna be full of some great looking scalers when you have guys like pardonmyn00b and imthatguy competing as well.

The SubaRux ? Or the real subie ? I didn't get a chance to work on the SubaRux today cause I had to get a swell on at the gym The interior parts are dry so I will probably try to assemble most of the interior tonight when I get out of work at 11...that's if black ops 2 doesn't call for me...stupid Xbox
