Default Chuck S buys a used 1.9 truggy

Well one of my fellow GCRCRC club members (JeremyH) has a collection of rigs that keeps growing, so I offered to buy one of them that he does not drive as much.

Its a Toyota truggy based off a SCX chassis and trans equiped with a VP dig, it has TLT axles with all the good stuff.

Here is a link to the original build thread Jeremy's 1.9 Truggy

here are some pics

Unfortunately I did, the TLT's left me wanting more in the steering department. Also I want to run OD/UD in the future.

I will have some photos of the swap up soon.

So the cats out of the bag...
I put some new/used axles under the truck, I had a used scx10 donor truck sitting on my shelf as well as some sweet axle mods sitting in a drawer.

here are photos of the old set-up.

also a shot of the donor truck.

Here are some photos of the links I had to make in order to put the new axles under the truck. The TLT links where to short all the way around.

After looking at the one on JeremyH's Sammy, it functioned very well and did not take up much space. I felt I could not go wrong using one.
I had to use something because the donor axles used the 3 link setup.

Here are some photos of the front axle...

stock gears
SDS Customz steel locker
SDS Customz Super 300 CVD's
Beef toobs
Vanquish SCX10 c-hubs 8 degree
Vanquish SCX10 8 degree knuckles
Tamiya 50882 Kingpin Set
DMG V3 truss

I did some milling on the truss to maximize the steering ability of the VP stuff.
I guess the truss was designed around the stock components with lower steering arms.
I also bead blasted the truss for a satin finish, I love the look of machined metal but the shiny look did not fit this build.
