| 1.9 EB buggy
Bought this chassis off the classifieds thought it was just what I was looking for then changed my mind. Everything that is on this Bronco was sourced from the classifieds here. axles, chassis and skid, motor shocks, tekin fxr, (servo I borrowed and reciever I had) Body I went on ebay and bought directly from dynamic concepts. step one was to hack out the "stuff" that was in the way- started with some very basic shock hoops. next step was deciding I could build it better and hacking ALL of the old stuff out of the way. build a second set of hoops- check out body ride height- fab up a basic servo mount~ start ion the major bends for the cage add body- rear bracing- more heat- added in rocker protection (was getting the chassis squared about now) more bracing~ bent in the classic roadster door look- finished and ready to wheel- (except for paint.) hope you enjoyed~ L.R. |

Project is looking really good, as is the orange 1:1. At the end of the month, my '70 halfcab should be done. I will post up pics when it is. Do you work in the oil patch out there? A few friends still live and work out of Williston, but I hear it has changed since I lived there. |

gonna work on interior today (basic one) how do I go about attaching it to the chassis? its going to be styrene- and needs to be removable. the things I dont think to look at when I read through other peoples build threads. :p L.R. |

I was having a problem with my interior. The frameset was ground down so the trany was removed from the inside of the chassis- with all my bracing the chassis has zero flex, and with the interior I was planning there was no way I could ever remove the skid and tranny from the top. I cut off the lip of the frame from the bottom side and welded in a new piece of frame on the top- new frame piece welded in: new cut out of the bottom~ new skid in place~ working on interior~ fabbing trans tunnel~ (ROYAL PITA!) removable interior parts- glued up trans cover~ |

Painted up the body~ trans cover a little more "refined" more progress shots. and of course as things go, I cant leave good enough alone. SO I made a custom 4 link mount- (gave me an extra 1" of travel in the front end.) getting closer- one more~ L.R. |

Thanks for the kind words Steve, 2JSC, and DzrtRyd I appreciate it. here is another update- did some work on the inner fenders today. Started with various sizes of tupperware, then went to CD cases, then finnaly decided that I needed to fab my inners out of styrene. I have a propensity to muck around trying to do something the "easy" way and end up going with a one off! Its really annoying. LOL Fabbed up my dash mount- took a hollow tube and cut it almost in half so it snapped onto the dash crossbar. holds nice and snug, not going to move anywhere now! inners~ Fresh out of paint- I always try to get my stuff "pretty". I didnt bother since these are inner fenders, and they are going to get covered in dirt and debris, and no one sees them anyway! looks ok to me! "engine bay"~ its kinda tough to photo this stuff with a body on- thats all for now. L.R. Last edited by LoneRanger; 08-22-2014 at 07:25 AM. |

I like your 4 link mounts good fabrication with the tabs.not one to tell.someone their business but I built something very similar on my 1.9 Cummins crawler and even a brushed 55 turn motor would twist the truss piece that connects to the axle, might want to think up some bracing to prevent that from happening just thought you would like to know. Love the Broncos!

That truss int done yet, but I will watch it. It is much stiffer than the stock plastic truss that it replaced. I still need to finish the tabs cleaning up the boogers and brazing them in the rest of the way. How much right foot did you use to get yours to bend? L.R. |
