Default A TF2 Jeep truck/utility/comp rig jigger.....

I've been using my green Toyoda TF2, SCX, GCM hybrid as a C2 comp rig for a while now.

It was never meant to be a competitive rig so I started another Hilux ute to use as a comp rig buuuut.......
I've come to the realisation that the theme I've picked for it was going to result in too many compromises. So I'm going to continue that build as a purely trail rig.

So now onto the next plan!
I wanted to make a Jeep based rig and I had a Gelande2 ready to go, I tried a YJ body and all looked ok initially..

But issues with pushing the front axle so far forward meant that the body just wasn't going to work out with the Gelande layout...
So plan B involved dragging out my FJ Cruiser body;

This looked like it would definitely work, but I really wanted to run a Jerp so back to the drawing board!

Time to think about this differently! We run a scale points system in C2 so why not try to maximise my scale pointage at the same time as build a capable rig!?

Enter the YJ body chopped into a ute and now sitting back on a TF2 chassis...

Some BIG flares were needed to get to the required 50% coverage..

Time for a tray and some more scale points!

Some rear wheelarchery... It's made up of a couple of layers of styrene laminated together for added strength.

So in order to get the nice low ride height I wanted i needed to swap the rear K44 to a spring under setup.
Initially it seems easy enough to do, just flip the axle upside-down and mount it above the springs.... The only issue is that then the rear wheels are heading in the opposite direction to the fronts!!

To get around this I drilled the mounting holes all the way through and tapped the thread then I made some blocks so the axle could be mounted above the springs and still be up the right way........

Thanks boss! ;)

I've always liked the look of the AEV Jeeps, The look of this one is heading somewhere between the Aev Jeeps, the Mopar concept Jeeps and my own warped mind...

The RC4WD Trailfinders looked to me to be a bit like AEV wheels;

I sand blasted them andthen painted them in a dark gunmetal grey followed by Tamiya matt clear.....

The maximum tyre size for our C2 class is 110mm, it's a bit of a happy coincidence that these tyres happen to be 110mm...
