The original bed. Since I made the switch to the SCX chassis they'll be about a 3" gap between cab and the bed. I got tired of trying to work with the original chassis. I also didn't like all the problems I was running into with the stock wheelbase. I've got a few ideas. Ran out of cutting blades. Hope to get the bed on soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I was just looking at old metal Tonka/Buddy L/Nylint trucks earlier this week and run across one of these! This is going to be awesome. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this build.

Hope you're able to return to your build, as it'd be great to see your outcome. I know RC time is hard to come by, though. I have kids, so it seems to take months and months to even get one build started! | |

Since I had a good pile of parts I went ahead with another build. I didn't do a build thread for it, but I tried to build a cool truck. This is what I came up with. So you tried to build a cool truck? I think you succeeded.

Very cool, indeed! +1 on the door sticker. Sometimes I wonder how many guys are out there, making builds, but never a thread about it, or picture posted of it. Build threads take work, as well as picture posting, so it's understandable. A hobby is personal thing, when it comes down to it. I do appreciate the sharing, though. Well, I hope don't get overwhelmed when I try my hand at a Tonka build, but we'll see. I'm thinking I'll do the Tonka Fire truck, because it has good potential for detailing and modifying. Plus, the cab sort of reminds me of those Tatra trucks, commonly seen in Truck Trials videos. I've got two other trucks to finish up, first, then I hope to get started. Well, in between trail expeditions, because my favorite trailing (hiking) weather is just arriving. |
