|  SHORE PATROL. Delux builds a C1 JK..
My C1 build for this season. It's the usual Chinese JK 2-door body, on a GCM Skeleton chassis. It's not meant to be a serious build but it's based on the shore patrol Jeeps used by the U.S. Navy during WW2. The axles are Axial with Vanquish bits for better turning of circles etc.. There's nothing new in this one, it's just a replacement for the Aussie Hilux as that was a bit too fragile for competition work... Any excuse for a new build! I've been working towards getting this ready for our first round so it's been a quick build!  I used Axial flares because I figured at least when they got scratched they'd still be black... I made a box to cover the rear seat..     |

The box was made to cover the back seat base, the big silly gun is from the Tamiya FAV kit.. I'm not a gun fan but it suits this build.  Front light for WW2 stylism..  101 uses for Keysteel that don't involve keyways...  No wonder he's angry! He took it for the team though.....  |

I took the Shore Patrol for it's first real run today, the GCM guys have done a brilliant job getting this to work so well! I've got the rear set quite stiff (on Chris' advice), more flex up front and it performed fantastic! It felt capable and predictable, even with all the extra weight of a solid steel cage up top! It's the first time I've run these RC4WD Mickey Thompsons too and even wet on waxy rock they outdid anything I've run there before. In the future some stiffer foams might be worth looking at though as they rolled under alot..    |
