| Re: Crawl Space's Isuzu Amigo Class 1 build (STRC) After some extensive crawl sessions with the Amigo I'm convinced of two things: 1.) It's incredibly fun to drive! and 2.) It sucks at climbing I talked with iluvdrt about several changes he made to his brat that resulted in substantial performance increases. My next mechanical modifications will be: 1.) Add negative castor by drilling new holes in the chubs somewhere around 20*-25* and clocking everything way back. 2.) Lower the ride height even more with new shocks/softer springs and slightly widening the wheel arches where excessive tire rub occurs. I'll also be installing the CI foams soon which should help climbing and turning. On a positive note, the Amigo is a master of descents (unlike my bronco which just endos) and, with the current drag-brake settings, begins to roll downhill just before flipping, most likely due to the amount of weight in each wheel and axle. I'm also considering leafing the rear axle since my buddy has a leaf adaptor kit. |

Finally getting some time in on my little buddy! Got the Tamiya Wrangler K lenses to fit perfectly! They actually have the same pattern as the painted lenses - I'm assuming Radio Shack copied the Tamiya Amigo when designing the body. Hoping to get to the taillights this evening after work |

Got the light buckets and lenses glued in - I dremeled and filed down the buckets (to make them flush with the grill) to about 1/32" from the gap where the lenses snap in. Used some clear lens glue to attach the buckets to the grill. Gonna start the taillights soon after getting LEDs in the headlights. |

I decided the Amigo is going with me to nationals this year - going to be my C1 entry! Been struggling to get it done but making progress. Got the CI foams in - haven't had a chance to try them out yet but they make the mtz's look awesome! Started cutting down some trailfinder lenses for the taillights and mocked them up to see where I'll have to cut the body. (There's a subtle clue in one of the photos regarding an upcoming change ;) More coming soon... |

Got my drivers! Mocked then up with a wraith interior. I think it actually fits nicely over the tranny so I ordered one up. |

Thanks man, I will. Unfortunately the Amigo is nowhere near ready, so the good ol' bronco will be standing in. Doesn't have crap for scale points but its fun to drive and, more importantly, it's ready |
