Hey thanks guys for all the compliments. I hope to get some shocks mounted up and the other half of the chassis built up. Just so that it's a roller. What to do with the rest of the hummer.....I'll have to ask my little boy. If he would like to build it up as a play toy or now. We'll see :-) |

I have a hummer I started messing with, but it got put a side when my daughter moved into my hobby room, she has since moved out on her own again, but I have yet to have time to pack and unpack the room... I am going to weld up frame to match the real H1... Ghez... Got to get back on the ball... But I like the H1 kit, great starting point... Could really use another kit for parts... Keep us Up to Date on your Build... Quote:

The Delrin chassis would just be way to pricey. However if it was a custom order, I could be talked into building one on some down time.

Well I was able to get a little more done last night. I've got the captured springs mounted and used the friction diesel shocks for looks. I've got the oil filled versions coming. Finished the rear mock up with a 4-link and now will work on mounting the steering servo to the chassis. Here are a few features that I wanted to try on this rig: 1- Captured springs (they work so well on my MAN Mog setups that I had to try them again) 2- Realistic shocks (turned down TLT's or something like it) 3- Shallow scale chassis 4- 1.9 Rims and Tires 5- 3 Bar with a Panhard link 6- New RC4WD R2 tranny 7- Hardbody 8- and finally a chassis mounted servo for looks. Just a few finishing touches and it should be finished up. Enjoy! Last edited by kaetwo; 12-05-2006 at 09:54 AM. |

Have you thought of making your chassies out of G10 FR4 the glass laminated fiber stuff? Might be cheaper than Aluminum and should have the same strength.

too bad about the cost, because that does look sweet. But if it's to expensive you'd have no market. Going to watch this build |

I'm concidering selling these K2-4 chassis's as kits. Rather than assembling them I will sell them as 2 rails, 2 cross members and 1 skid. They will be cut to what I think would be a maximum width and then sold to those wanting to build there own custom chassis. The builder could then make them as wide or narrow as they would like. This would keep costs down as well. The only downside is that it would be for the experienced builder and not for the guy that wants to just bolt together a kit. We'll see what happens though.

Nice looking rig K2, I really like it. Stole my idea of the shocks... Hope the oil-filled ones work for you; I still have not received mine yet. Last edited by Trikster; 12-05-2006 at 01:39 PM.
